Any hairdresser bees, how long do I have to wait to dye my hair?

You can dye over it immedately, but i wouldnt.  Instead, I’d go in and ask them to give you a toner or a gloss to not completely cover the highlights but to bring them a few shades darker. More dark caramel, less ash blonde.  I’d ask for a level 6 toner with a little bit of gold added in (unless the pic is just making them look ashy, but they look REALLY cool colored!)  If they use Shades EQ, a 6N+6G equal parts with a splash of clear for like 5 minutes would be beautiful.  Plus a gloss will be demi or semi perm and won’t be as damaging to your hair. Good luck!

@WhiteSnow:  yep! And your natural hair color is warm, its almost like a chestnut brown based on the picture. I’m thinking something like the below: if you get them toned to around that color, they’ll lighten up slowly over time but wont be as light as what they are now.

HOnestly it looks like she took them REALLY light, it may take a few rounds of toner over a few weeks to get it to really stick- when hair is processed that light, it becomes porous and has a difficult time holding color after the fact.  However, if she’s good she can formulate something that will wear well over time. I do agree, they’re too light and ashy for your complexion!

@WhiteSnow:  the good news is those colors are totally attainable with a good eye and a gloss 🙂  If you don’t trust her to do it, see if there’s a senior colorist around who you can see instead.  Or just keep repeating “warm level 6 please, not red”…it’ll make you sound like you know someone who does hair 😉

I actually really like you with the lighter hair colour!  But the dark is nice to since it contrasts with your blue eyes:)

I do like your darker color a bit better, but the lighter certainly doesn’t look bad! Maybe keep it for a week or two and see if it grows on you. It might be nice for summer! You can always go back dark 🙂
