My fiance and I are having a hard time deciding where to go on our honeymoon. We are getting married in July 2013 but waiting until January 2014 to take our honeymoon. We want to go to an international destination where neither of us has been, so Mexico, Europe, alot of the Carribean Islands are out. We also want it to be warm (80’s and up!). My pick was to go to the Seychelles, but I don’t want to spend $3K per person on airfare. =( Does anyone have any suggestions?

hmmm, i’m not sure what the weather is like in January but have you thought about Costa Rica? We went there for our honeymoon and it was amazing, the people are super friendly, the land is beautiful, the food is great and its not that expensive. We stayed at Oxygen Jungle Villa which is a pretty secluded private hotel up in the jungle, i’d reccomend that hotel if your looking to just relax and want a quiet getaway. they do help set you up with any activities your looking to do if your more the active type like horseback riding on the beach, rainforest tours, whale tours, recommended restaurants, etc. We didnt have time to do the volcanoes and natural springs but I heard good things about that as well 🙂

@CircleFace: Great idea! No we hadn’t considered it, although I have said I want to go there – thanks for reminding me! We were looking for somewhere similar to Hawaii, where you have the beach but you can also do excursions like hiking, kayaking, etc. Just doing some quick research it looks like this is possible in Costa Rica? This sounds like it might be a great fit for us! Thanks so much!

I think Costa Rica or Belize could be great options for you! It is a good time of year to go to the Caribbean I think, so maybe there are a couple interesting destinations there neither of you have been to, like St Lucia?

My cousin went to Turkey for her honeymoon. She had an amazing time, was able to stay there an entire month, and her pictures were ridiculously gorgeous.
Personally I would like to go to Vietnam ever since I saw a Top Gear episode where they stayed at this resort: http://www.thenamhai.com/
