I would use cornstarch over baby powder. Another idea is the Vagisil stuff that prevents chafing. It’s got dimethicone in it, I think,…that’s a silicon based product. I plan on doing both.

Also consider using the Evian misting sprays for a cool spritz or the Body Shop’s rosewater spray…both will cool you down.

Drink lots of water days up to your wedding and day of, eat an orange. It’s excellent for preventing dehydration.

@mardzhona:  You are welcome. 🙂

I just saw your location. Your “hot” may not be like mine (Texas), so that is what I was basing it on.

I also realized I forgot a make-up setting spray. I think this is great for any bride, but especially warm weather.

Vaseline is what runners use to prevent chaffing between the thighs I think..I’m gonna try it next time i’m wearing a dress on a walk in Vegas LOL.  I find I have more issues in dry heat for chafing than in moist heat like we have here.  Not sure if you’re worried about that though, or just the heat.  Maybe get one of those water fan things you can spritz and fan at the same time!

Lots of water! As a joke, we took pictures of me chugging the water bottle.

Also, I had to take the crinoline off after dinner – it became miserable.

@Krispi:  I took my underskirt off after dinner! My hoop skirt actually helped though, got a breeze haha.

I ate lightly, drank lots of water, got hand-fans for all my guests, and didn’t start the ceremony until near sunset. (Golden hour!) We had the wedding on a boat at a river, so lots of breezes… I didn’t do anything for chafing though, just wore mini bike shorts under my dress.

Lots of water, fans, and dont be afraid to tell someone when your feeling bad. It would be horrible to pass out from the heat on your wedding day!
