The San Juan Islands in Washington are beautiful and only an hour or two from Seattle.
In Seattle- Pike's Place Market, Underground Tour, Museum of Flight, Experience Music Project, Space Needle, Ballards Locks, Museum of Glass,
Outside of Seattle- Mt Rainier, Mt St. Helens, San Juan Islands (You can take a water plane from Seattle to San Juan Island), Olympic National Park, Hoh Rain forest.
Hey! I live in St George, UT and it is two hours north of Vegas (on the way to SLC). It is EXTREMELY beautiful and the weather would be PERFECT in early October! Google St. George. it is so pretty I love it! If you are gonna do something like that, St. George is a must-see on your way. If you have any qs or anyting pm me!
Thank you guys for the suggestions so far
I lived in Portland for the last 2 years and absolutely loved it there! I recommend going to Multnomah Falls- it's only about 30 minutes from downtown Portland but a gorgeous drive and an amazing waterfall. Washington Park is also a place to visit- it's where I got engaged so I'm a bit biased but there's a gorgeous rose garden, Japanese Garden, zoo, and gives you a great view of the city and Mount Hood. Make sure you visit the breweries in Portland if you're a beer lover..they're all amazing and the food is pretty good too. My faves are Deschutes, Bridgeport, and Rogue. The neighborhood of NW 23rd also has great shopping and a great restaurant/bar scene and is, in general, a great place to just walk around and experience Portland.
If you've never been to the Oregon Coast that's a must see. Just drive down highway 101 either way and you will be surrounded by the gorgeous scenery. It's only about an hour drive from Portland and you can do a little loop down the coast and back to Portland for a great day trip. It tends to be really foggy in the morning so try to do the drive in the afternoon though.
If you have any questions about Oregon or Portland just ask! All my friends can attest to the fact that I love talking about Oregon :)

Hi!
We were going to go to Mexico for our honeymoon in early October, but with flights it just looks like it might be too expensive. We have Aussie friends coming over for our Californian wedding and they want to do Vegas. We are going there with them and thought we might do a driving trip from Vegas to Salt Lake City to Boise to Seattle to Portland. Other than Seattle and Portland, we don't have our hearts set on SLC or Boise so open to recs for other towns to stay in. Just wondering what we should definitely not miss on our road trip along the way.
Thanks!
