Hmmm, I’m in a similar situation, as Kingy is Australian and moved to the US for me, he has a lot of pride in his country, just like your fiance. For his groom’s gift, I didn’t really bring in his country but some of the people who can’t be there on his big day… I got him cuff links that open up to put pictures inside- on one side I have pictures of him and his Dad, who passed away. On the other side I have a picture of his sister who can’t make it because she has Cerebral Palsy and couldn’t handle the flight and a photo of his grandparents, who are too old to make the trip. I don’t know if that helps at all.. maybe you can make him a groomscake that ties in both countries?

My DH is a huge anglophile, so I found cufflinks that had the CN Tower/Canadian Flag for one wrist and Big Ben/Union Jack on the other.  He loved them!

You can see the TO and Big Ben examples here.

Kingytobe’s idea is really cute as well.

You could also try this etsy seller who makes cufflinks with maps.  You could pick the city you live in now and where you FI is from in South Africa.

how about a beer gift basket with beer from both countries in the basket and include a coozie, bottle opener and mug.
