A friend of mine is getting married for the 2nd time and is planning a night out to celebrate. She’s in her mid-30’s and not looking for anything too crazy. No strippers, no shots, etc. We are meeting at her house and then going to a nice restaurant for dinner/wine… then maybe to some bars afterwards.
I really don’t know if anyone is in charge of planning anything or if the bride is putting this together. I think there are about 6 girls invited… I know 3 or 4 of them, but not very well. I do have their email addresses, so I could try to see if any surprises have been planned…
Just wondering if anyone has ideas for anything I could do to make the evening special?

You could bring champagne to her house to start off the night!

@MrsTVLover: That’s a good idea! I know she said for folks to come early for a drink or two, but champagne is more celebratory so I think I will do that. Can you recommend a good kind to get? I stopped drinking years ago due to migraines and now I’m 7.5 months pregnant. I’m sure everyone else will want to drink though!
@Miss Feather: That sounds fun! I may look into something like that.
I will see if maybe the restaurant can do anything special… like write “Congrats” or “Best Wishes” in chocolate or something when she gets dessert… or bring around a special wine for a toast or something.

I really like the brand “Sparkle-tini” — it’s a pink champagne, very sweet (juice like) and girly for a bachelorette party. Oh, and cheap! Like $10 for a big bottle.
What about having a theme for the night? Like everyone wears black and ask the bride to wear white? Maybe get her a Bride sash?
Could you bring a cake to the restaurant that says “congrats!” or something of the like?

Are you guys bringing small fun gifts? Maybe in addition to the champagne beforehand you could have a panty guessing party? Where each of you bring in a new pair to give her and she has to guess who bought them? Some people do shots with each wrong guess but you can easily just do the guessing. Adds a bit of fun to the night!

@MadTownGirl: @Leelee26: – ahh, man – these are all good ideas! I wish I’d seen your posts earlier. The event was on Friday, so unfortunately it’s too late. 🙁 The bride loves cake and I totally should have done that! The panty guessing would have been fun! We did get her a bride sash and I brought some champagne and her favorite wine, which they drank beforehand.
Thanks for your ideas – I’ll keep them in mind for other friends down the road!

Here’s something we did for a friend’s bachelorette that we all loved and had an amazing time:
-Meet at one person’s house to get ready, have cocktails, put on the false lashes, etc. Get SUPER dolled up and cute!
-Go to a photo studio and get professional pics done! They were not super cheap but we all got individual pictures, pictures with each person with the bride, then group pictures. The prints were what cost the money, but we all got some really beautiful photos out of it that I will treasure.
-Went out for a great dinner at a restaurant. Brought some cards from ‘Loaded Questions – Adult’ and had a HILARIOUS time asking questions and playing the game.
-Went to a club after (but the night would have been equally as good without)
EDIT: Aaaand I just finished reading your post. Oops! Well hopefully this is still inspiring for others and hope you had a WONDERFUL time!
