Where are all of the Indiana brides? I'm getting married May 28, 2011 in southern Indiana and just getting into wedding planning. So excited to finally be on the boards! 
I'm a previous Indiana bride! I got married May of last year in Northwest Indiana though lol went to college for a year in the south though :p
lol I'm glad I found ONE! YAY!! I'm also finishing up college in southern indiana. Could it be the same one? hehe
I am new to this site but am soooo very excited to pick up sometimes for my special day. My fiance and I reside in Southern Indiana also!!
I've seen a couple others floating around, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. I was at UE before I transferred back upstate (and am now transferring yet again to another school, this time in NYC lol)
Correction- some great tips! I hope to attend UE spring semester, but waiting on my VA paperwork to clear for my benefits. Its been over four months now so I am really hoping that they can speed the process up!
UE was AMAZING. I really enjoyed it. The campus and professors and students were all great (well, the food not so much lol but I know they were updating that stuff when I transferred). I transferred to be closer to home because of family trouble and also because I wanted to change my major to something UE didn't offer.
Southern Indiana Bride right here!! Brand new today!! Wish there were more resourses for Indiana on here! Anyone find any help me out!

I would definitely agree there is hardly anything out here. I just moved back here in Oct from St Louis and when I started thinking about wedding plans boy did I get discouraged! Anybody going to the bridal show expo this sunday-Jan 10? I originally signed up to go and then found out I have to work...bummer because FH was on board with going with me when will that ever happen again. :)
I agree that there are very few resources on here for Indiana brides. It is very discouraging. I thought about going to the bridal expo but I have to back to school (IU!!). I almost went to UE though. I have a lot of friends who are Aces!

I really just wanted to go to the expo to see what was out there that I might be missing from online surfing. I was hoping for that hidden gem! LOL
VERY goo espo at the crowne plaza in louisville on January 24!!! Meet me at the Alter is the name google it and register! its all over the radio evey year and this is the firt time I get to take advantage!! Living in southern indiana across right across the bridge from louisville!!! cant find a caterer!!! HELP!
I'm surprised that there were this many Indiana brides out there, especially from southern Indiana!! My hometown is about an hour above Evansville, so I'm definitely excited to hear about others around there! Does anyone else have a personal blog or wedding tips in general for Indiana brides searching for vendors and inspiration? I'd lovvve to read!

Hi Everyone!! Just wanted to let you know there is going to be SUPER BRIDE SUNDAY Feb 7 at the Centre in Evansville, IN from 9am-3pm!!! Yes I realize this is Super Bowl Sunday, but I think you can squeeze in both and if the groom isnt going this is a great time to bring along your bestie friend! I wasnt able to make it to the last bridal show, but I am definitely hoping to make it to this one. Also, has anyone else checked out tristatebride.com????

Has anyone started their wedding planning? Or finished? I feel like I am soooo behind! LOL. Also does anyone know how often david's bridal has their $99 gown sale. Unfortunately, I am working on a budget and am looking for the sales! LOL
Another Indiana bride!! I am up north though, finishing up school at Purdue! We're getting married in Southeast Indiana, right over the border in Ohio.
I live in Evansville. I'm getting married in Florida.
So disappointed today I contacted our #1 hope for our caterer and they are booked already on our date!!! I cant believe this since we are aiming for Oct 2010. I guess I didnt realize that things would book up sooo quickly. And of course FI had no reaction when I told him..AHHHHH!!!
I live/am getting married in Indianapolis.
But for all of you Southern Indiana brides my best friend lives in Evansville and she said there is a bridal show there very soon, possibly this weekend maybe.
@sweetnote, don't let it get to you. there are plenty of caterers aroudn here, I am sure you will find someone with your availability open. you will find someone!

sweetnote: i see you are on a budget. how far are you into planning. i am planning my wedding of 100 ppl on just a couple thousand dollars. feel free ot shoot me some questions if you want. or maybe you have suggestions for me :)
i am either using yesterdays catering and cakes or touch of home catering. they both quoted me $10/person! amazing! that includes staff and everything! let me know ifyouwan their info
Hi guys! Wow the Indiana board is going strong I LOVE IT!! Ok lets see my updates I am still researching for location/caterer. Our #1 company said they do mobile catering which is great but it is a minimum $500 order. I am not for sure if this is a great deal or not since I feel clueless about wedding stuff. What seems odd to me is I have been waiting for the day to start planning and I have no clue what to do next.. LOL. I am just researching right now in order to have all the information to present to FI so that we can make a decision on who to meet. I am definitely going to SuperBride Sunday! I cant wait!! I am hoping this gives me some ideas or maybe steers me more to DIY alot more things than I had planned on.
@daniellealys-I also researched touch of catering and they are actually still on my maybe list. Have you already picked your reception location?
We also decided to get married across the bridge in Henderson because thats where our church is located(FI church) so we want to keep everything on that side to save losing guests along the way. :)

Also is anyone else doing alot DIY?? If so what did you do? I would love to know what has been the most challenging so far.
i love wedding bee too! this has been my crutch for wedding planning. everyone is so awesome!
Sweetnote: We are having our reception and ceremony at Kingmens Event Facility in evansville; off baseline rd and 57. What do you think about nancy (touch of home catering) i am still trying to read her. she says we cant do taste testing because it costs too much for a small business caterer. she seems really nice and honest but i dont know how much experience/resources she has.
I love diy projects so I am trying to get them in wherever i can! My mom and I made our STD's and they turned out amazing! Now working on the invitation suite.
And I just ordered a parasol so i can add "Thank You" to it for a photo to go in the thank you cards. We are also making all of the centerpieces, cake stands.
@daniellealys- yea I am not to sure about that her either thats why i kinda said she is a maybe more so probably not because I would need to do a taste test. I am sorry but food is definitely high on our list of it better be YUMMY! :)
I have been trying to gather some DIY projects that i think i would love to attempt. Definitely the invites because FI is a graphic designer so he should be able to handle this small order. :) I want to do our centerpieces also. Anyone venturing out further and doing their cake or cupcakes? I dont know maybe the tutorials make it look so easy that I believe i can do it until I am in the kitchen. :)
@emmerz- I am also thinking of using/making a Thank You Parasol, let me know how it turns out for you!

Hey guys! I'm looking for someone to make our cake. I haven't really heard of anyone around me. I live about an hour and a half from Evansville. Do you think that's too far to go for a cake?
@hoosierlauren- Some people would say it isnt if there isnt anyone in your area that could make it, but I dont think I would drive that far. There arent any bakeries in your area, or grocers that could possibly do your cake? Where are you located? Maybe some of the other Indiana might know a hidden gem to do your cake.
@sweetnote10 - I think that's my problem. I keep looking for a hidden gem in my area (near Jasper) and I'm just not finding it. I'm afraid if I go with a grocery store our cake might end up on cakewrecks.com haha I keep looking at these BEAUTIFUL cakes online and I'm not sure anyone around here can make something like that. If anyone knows of ANYONE I'd be sure to check them out. :)
