We have set this as our "tentative" wedding date...no planning yet but our weddnig is going to be small so it shouldn't require too much planning :)

I'm getting married on July 3rd, 2010 in Minnesota. I'm not really worried about the heat because it doesn't really get humid here. I'm enjoying my engagement and taking it a little at a time. But so far I have already booked my ceremony/reception venue, photographer, DJ, ceiling draping, chairs & linens. I am planning on making my own invitations & programs and also a lot of other smaller details for the wedding. I love DIY! Next on the agenda is hiring a caterer and baker. Tastings, here I come!!

@ Beexiong- We are almost the same! I got engaged on Dec. 25, 2008 and we are both planning a July 3rd 2009 wedding! How cool!! Do you have your color scheme picked out yet?

@Miss Farmer: How exciting!! My engagement date would have been on Christmas too but my fiance confessed that he got nervous and couldn't do it. haha. He finally conjured up the courage the next day! Lucky for him, I didn't say no! :)

Our colors are going to be white with lots of pink & green accents. You see, he is Irish and green is his favorite color so it was a must. Pink is a pretty color and I have always wanted to have pink in my wedding. Plus I think pink & green just look really cute together.

Do you have a blog? You can find me at http://patrickandbee.blogspot.com/ It will be fun to follow each other's wedding plans up until the BIG day. :)

Beexiong: I do not have a blog yet! But, I just read yours and it’s so cute! Like you, I plan on making a lot of the details myself! Its makes the wedding planning a lot more fun and personal! My wedding colors are navy and white with accents of pink and purple! I plan on incorporating a lot of pearls into the wedding as well. I am so happy I found another July 3rd bride! We definitely need to check back in with one another to see how the planning is going!! 11 months 2 weeks and 3days left! :)

@Miss Farmer: You should definitely start up a blog and share your ideas and inspiration with other brides out there. It is also a fun way to document your planning process so you can always look back at it and remember the fun times (and stress, ha!). I just started mine but I'm loving it so far. I hope to blog as much as I can. Some brides blog every day! I have not gotten that good yet, but I hope to at least blog every other day since all I can think about is the wedding! :)

Hello fellow July 3rd'ers. I'm so excited. I'm getting married in Illinois. My Fiance wanted an all white wedding, but I add Champagne for a variation but light and elegant. Congrats to all of you. Happy planning!

I am getting married July 3rd now, after some of our venues were not available on the first date we picked out. I have booked the venues, but I was wondering on when you guys were planning to send out your Save The Dates? I don't want to do it too early and have people lose it or forget etc

@pinkchampagne: I was planning to send out my STD's in October, at the 9-month mark. That way, all the guests will have plenty of time to make preparations for taking time off work (since it is a holiday weekend) and travel arrangements (most of our guests are OOT). And then formal invitations will go out in May 2010, approx 2 months before the big day, so everyone can finalize their plans and send me back the rsvp's in time. Smile

@pinkchampagne: I plan to send out my Save the Dates at the 6 months mark. I have a mix of out of towners and local residents.  :)  Are you making your own or having them made professionally?

lonie30, did you save a lot of $$ by getting married Friday?  I suppose it's too late for regrets now though for my booked Saturday venue!

beexiong, I'm in the same boat as you, lots of OOTs so I want to send out STD's as soon as possible.

Miss Farmer, for now I'm getting magnets made with a special photo from our engagement session.  A friend of mine recommended invitationconsultants.com and their prices look pretty good!  Does anyone have other recommendations for STD magnets?

Oh and is anyone else concerned about how crowded the city will be on July Fourth weekend?  We're getting married in Atlanta and I'm starting to worry it will be a hectic weekend, traffic, hotel, and otherwise!

Hi!  I'm another July 3 bride!

We're getting married in Cleveland on a cliff high above the lake so I'm not worried about the heat - I'm worried about the wind!  :)  Our colors are light aqua and red.  The downtown issue does concern me - our wedding is in the heart of downtown, but we've set it up so that everything is within walking distance from our preferred hotels - people never need to get in their cars if they don't want to!  (we hope!)  Getting ready to send our save the dates at the end of September - that way we're at the 9 month mark for holiday weekend weddings!

Our favorite detail right now is the morning-after brunch - instead of doing a traditional brunch we're hosting a fourth of july barbecue in the park with sparklers, hot dogs, and all of the classic details!

Another July 3, 2010 bride confirmed as of today.  Woo-hoo!  I love the fact that 7+3=10 ;)  So far, I have booked the venue and I am researching photographers.  After that, probably reserving the caterer.

Hoping that out of town guests will be excited to make a long weekend of it.  And I am totally with leahdl on the day-after July 4th BBQ to keep the party going.

Our wedding is in northern California and I have heard it will be HOT.  Originally we were planning to have our ceremony outside in the pretty garden area but now it looks like for the comfort of our guests, the venue's indoor ceremony room will be more likely.  Maybe the cocktail hour, after it cools down in the evening, will allow for some outdoor time.

Almost... July 2, 2010 in Atlanta as well.  I'm not concerned about the city being crowded, I think it would be a fun and exciting time to be in Atlanta.  I'm a little worried about the heat, however it will be a wonderful holiday weekend and wedding.

    Happy Planning...

I too am close, but getting married on the 2nd! How are you all doing with planning? I feel like I have all the big things (church, date, location, dress, photographer) done, and now I don't know where to go. What little things should I begin working on now?

Yay for 4th of July weekend brides. I could not think of a better time to celebrate a wedding than on my favorite holiday. About 8 months to go ladies! :)

    @ beexiong - thank you!  :)

@ mrsh 2 be - we chose our invitations and they are being ordered today! it might be a little early but we figured why not order them and cross it off the list if you know what you are looking for... it's one more thing done! we also booked the florist - we have not had our consultation on exact budget, kinds of flowers, or colors yet, but we have them booked for the date. i also chose the bridesmaid dresses and e-mailed the girls the details (a picture, where to find it, the color, style number, store name, cost, when the store recommended they be ordered by, etc - they loved knowing so far in advance and finding out which dress, they are really excited about it!) hope that helped a little!

I'm sending out my STDs this week! Eek! It's getting more real and much more "official" now that all of our loved ones across the country will know about the wedding.

@KT_Williams: Don't worry, you still have time. But I would advise that you get them out soon if you have a lot of OOT guests. That way they can have lots of time to plan for it.

I am a July 3rd bride too!  We are getting married in Boston, so I am a little worried about travel costs and hotel prices so close to the fireworks, but really excited!  We have just finished booking our venue and photographer, so hopefully I can get some Save-the-Dates out soon!

We're getting married July 2nd. We would like to do a patriotic theme, but not too over the top. So far I know that I'm having my bridesmaids wear navy dresses and the groomsmen will be wearing red ties and vests. Someone suggested that the BM's have red floral bouquets and the guys have blue flowers, but I'm stumped. I'm not too much of a flower girl. What are the rest of you doing? I sent out the STD's last week because of the holiday weekend and the fact that we're getting married on a Friday evening. I wanted to get them out early enough for everyone to make arrangements. Thanks!
