Hi everyone! I was wondering if any Key West lovers or brides would like to share their ideas on guest welcome bags and before and after the wedding activities.  If by chance anyone has had their wedding at the Southernmost Resot, I would LOVE to see photos!! Thanks hive!!

We just got back from our honeymoon in Key West! What a gorgeous place to get married. :) Anything "Key Lime" would go over well--maybe something Hemingway related too?

For before and after activities, my husband and I took one of the trolley tours--CityView, I think. If you buy your ticket after 3:00pm, they will honor it all day the next day as well. They run every half hour, so you can get off, and get back on when you've explored the neighborhood.

A gorgeous place we visited (that is free to get in, though they do encourage donations) was the West Martello Tower, which is run as a botanical garden by the Key West Garden Club. You could probably call them and see if you could get some informal shots taken in there--the contrast with the crumbling brick architecture and lush plants and trees was really striking to me.

A fellow Keys Bride!  We are getting married at Bahia Honda (just a few miles north of Key West).  For our OOT bags, we are planning on putting in 2 bottles of water, a orange, a bag of pretzels from my hometown, a bag of popcorn from FI's hometown, and a thing of chapstick.  We may also include a travel-size thing of sunscreen, depending on the price.

For activities, you may want to suggest a group snorkel/dive trip.  We aren't paying for our guests, but we are telling everyone "Hey, on Sunday afternoon (after the wedding) we are going out on a boat.  If you want to join us, it will cost $XX." I am hoping many of our guests will decide to join us (it sounds like they will).  I am hoping for a relaxing "group" trip that will give us more time to hang with the guests.  While diving can get pricey (and usually divers are willing to pay the price), most companies offer snorkel trips for $25-$30. But that is Marathon prices....I don't know if the price is jacked up in Key West.

Also, notyourtypicalbride just got married in Key Largo - you may want to PM her for suggestions - she was very helpful to me!

    ME ME ME!!

I am looking into securing my date at Marriott Beachside.

For my OOT bags I am getting a

    • beach bag
    • monogram towel (i am getting a discount through one of the my moms work vendor)
    • tissues
    • water (2)
    • soda (1)
    • shout wipes
    • travel size aloe vera
    • hand sanitizer
    • 100 calorie snack bags (2-3 bags)
    • specialty cookies from a local bakery in Key Lime flavors/beach theme
    • business card on where to upload all pictures on to Shutterfly for everyone to share
    • travel fabreeze (i know that sometimes peoples umm stomachs react differently when they go to new locations. Nothing like being stuck in a hotel room smelling like swamp)
    • band-aids (since there will be site seeing around the island and I don't want people to get bad blisters)

We are going to host a deep sea fishing day for the guys and a spa day for the ladies.

I am getting married in 3 weeks in Key West. We are staying at Southernmost on the Beach. We have stayed there before and had the pleasure of seeing a couple of weddings. They seem to do a fabulous job! The setting is beautiful! We are having a very small wedding, only ten guests, and Southernmost is doing a small reception dinner. I think you will be very happy using them.Smile
