achilles :

I’m 28, my husband is 33. I also have lean pcos (5’7, 135lbs).

I did 9 cycles total, 7 at 5mg and 2 at 7.5mg.

I became pregnant in between my 6th and 7th femara cycle which sadly ended in m/c at 6 weeks. I am currently 4weeks5days pregnant from the 9th cycle. Hoping this is the rainbow baby!

achilles :  symptoms were 20+ follicles per ovary, high LH, and no periods.

I’m a bit nauseous while taking femara cd3-7, and I’m usually a raging bitch for most of the month of the medicated cycles (while I’m usually very mild mannered).. my poor husband has put up with many months of mood swings!

Your age/partner’s age:  33/35

cycles ttc:  13 cycles (about to start 14th cycle).  had mmc prior to that that i am not including in cycles ttc.

Why femara:  I already ovulate, lap for endo already completed in August.  But I have a LP defect.  This is to help me ovulate better.

I am about to start my second cycle on femara at 5mg cd5-9, but this cycle we’re adding ovidrel.  It’s a monitored cycle.

Have not yet conceived.

My ovaries do tend to be a little sore right before and after ovulation.  I only had one mature follicle last cycle but it was a really good size.

Your age/ your partner’s age: 27/26

Cycles TTC: 7 months. 0 periods on my own… 3 provera induced withdraw bleeds

Why femara?: i have PCOS and endo and clomid didn’t work… so I’m trying metformin and femara this cycle

How many rounds? At what doseage?: I’m currently on CD14 of round one at 5mg. So far no ovulation in sight (ultrasound 3 days ago showed no dominant follicle)

Runcolorado37 :  It’s an HCG shot that triggers ovulation.  It’s to help with timing.  And also to make sure that the egg doesn’t lounge in the ovary after it’s already matured.

I’m not TTC right now (next year) but I conceived my son with Femara. Just thought I’d add my info. It was a miracle pill for me.

Your age/ your partner’s age: 25/27 (23/25 at the time)

Cycles trying: a lot. We were TTC/NTNP at various times for 4 years. It was useless though because I was not ovulating due to PCOS.

Why femara?: not ovulating due to PCOS. I never tried Clomid and asked to go right to Femara after researching.

How many rounds? At what doseage?: I got pregnant with twins the first round. 2.5mg on CD3-7. Unfortunately I miscarried. I did another round a few months later, same dosage and days and conceived my son.

Did you conceive with Femara?: yes, both times I took it

How many cycles did it take?: 2 including miscarriage

Anything you’d like to add?: I took Metformin for my PCOS as well which I believe also helped. It may ne something to look into. I didn’t ovulate on my own in years and did taking Metformin and Femara. It was truly a miracle for me and I’m so grateful. PCOS can cause low progesterone so once I was pregnant, I had to be on supplements to stay pregnant. Low progesterone contributed to my miscarriage. If you get pregnant, ask to have your progesterone levels checked. They were very low with my son and I truly believe he wouldn’t be here without progesterone supplements.

I agree with emeraldgrey.  My doctor also has me on progesterone supplements starting 3dpo.
