Hello....first post I am starting to plan my wedding to my wonderful girlfriend/fiance...It's over a year away but I'm obsessed with it right now, haha. I just wanted to know if there are any couples out there that have gotten married or are planning to and can reccomend any banquet halls for a couple on a budget...I would prefer something closer to home (We stay in Little Village, like 5 minutes from the town of Cicero) It is going to be a small event (less than 100) and we have had a hard time finding anything for small events, so now I have to weed that down even more to see if they are friendly to LGBT couples.

Hi! Welcome to the hive and congratulations on getting engaged! I don't know if I can be of much help but I have heard good things about the Garfield Park Conservatory. It is near(ish) Cicero and they look like they have a flexible space. I don't know if they are LGBT friendly but hopefully they (or any other places that you look at) won't be close-minded. Welcome! Not sure if you'd be open to this, but I would recommend many of the chicago park district venues. Most are really cost effective and can't imagine you'd have any issues w/them not being LGBT-friendly. Here's a link:

Seeing as how my wife and I just got married, I think that I might be of help! We had a wonderful time using the Mayslake Peabody Estate and we had 100 people. It was perfect and beautiful! Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help!

We are getting Married at the Wilder Mansion in Elmhurst on Oct 4th and they were VERY LGBT friendly. We've has an Amazing experience so far. Not very close to Cicero but not that far either . good luck !
