@mrs_brownie: I have the same situation!
And yes, everyone said to go with strapless. I loved my strapless dress, but as the time got nearer I started panicking at the idea because I never wear straplesss (I have fat arms too).
I was going to do a bolero but at the last minute chose a new dress, one with cap sleeves. I felt such relief! Let me just say I was very comfortable at my wedding and I am so glad I went with my gut and had sleeves.
@mrs_brownie: I've got several dark birthmarks and a slew of light freckles. I'm wearing a strapless dress. I've had a few of the bigger birthmarks removed, but I've still got a bunch. I'm just gonna roll with it...I think I'll be too distracted to think about my birthmarks, anyway!
I sure do! I have so many freckles/ moles. Honestly, I don't even think about it! My family has a history of skin cancers so I have had lots of mine removed to have them checked for safety. I always think confidence is the best policy, but if that means you are more confident with sleeves or a cover up, go for it! But I would just rock it- it is YOUR body!
I have tons of freckles!! To be honest though, I don't even see them, they are just part of me and have never been a problem for me. I'm sorry that you think they are ugly, I don't think they are at all. There is not one person that is going to see your freckles and think "oh, how ugly that she's showing her freckles!" you are your own worst enemy!! Be proud to be freckled!! Show off your beautiful skin!!
I also have a tattoo on my upper back that I got years ago and if I'd want to cover anything up it would be that, but it's part of me too, so if I go with strapless or open back, then so be it!
I have freckles on my cheeks and also on top of my shoulders and scattered in various other places. The ones on my body are darker and fewer than the ones on my face, but you couldn't see any freckles in most of my photos. (I would show you, but really, you can't.) I think it's the combination of lighting and the fact that photos aren't taken from so close.
In any case, I love my freckles. After all, as Shakespeare said, "Those be rubies, fairy favors. In those freckles live their savors." (One of my favorite freckle-related quotes.) Show 'em off!
l have freckles. My skin isn't as fair, but my freckles are a little darker. They are mostly on my face. SO says he loves them. :) I 'forget' that I have freckles until I see someone with a suuper clear complextion.
My senior portait I had makeup done and my freckles were covered.. I thought it was sooo weird!
For your wedding dress, just go with what you are comfortable with. I'm sure you could add sleeves to the dress if you really wanted to.
I have tons of freckles/moles all over my arms as well, but I actually really like them. They've never bothered me, and I think they're kinda cute. I don't see anything wrong with your arms at all, and I think you should wear your strapless gown with pride. I promise you that your freckles/moles are way more noticeable to you than they are to anyone else. All they will notice is how stunning you look in your beautiful dress.
I have a lot of freckles and moles on my arms. I don't really notice them anymore and they didn't show up in the wedding pictures except for a closeup of us holding hands. I looked at it and said, "Good Lord..what the hell happened there?" It looked like some old freckly lady was holding hands with my husband. LOL
I don't think your moles are terribly bad but if you talk to the photographer he/she can probably smooth your skin color out in the pics. :)
I personally really like freckles and don't see moles as ugly at all!
My moles are all over my arms and, this sounds corny, but as a kid I'd compare them in my mind to stars in the sky. I would be really unhappy to lose any of them.
I also get a freckled face and shoulders whenever I'm in the sun. As a result, I tend to equate freckles to late lazy summer: sunny days laying in the hammock, listening to the cicadas, feeling the warm breeze while in your bathing suit, and drinking lemonade.
Own them: those marks really are beautiful
My sister is COVERED in moles and no one noticed them :)
I am a natural redhead and my face, arms and chest are heavily freckled. I, too, often find that wearing strapless looks "weird" but I think we are just self conscious! Embrace your moles/freckles! :D
Own them!
I have tons of freckles and several moles on my shoulders/upper back/arms. I'm very fair with reddish hair and easily burn, which them freckles. I got SUPER sunburned when I was 12 (sun poisoning) and ended up with tons of the little guys. Trust me, no one notices them.
I hate to hear that freckles are ugly. I am COVERED in freckles. Head to toe. There is literally no way for me to cover up my freckles. :P I don't think your arms look bad.
I have tons of freckles and moles all over my body. I've never been self conscious of them and have always loved them. I say don't try to hide your body, but embrace it! Especially on your wedding day where your happiness will (most likely) make you look absolutely beautiful to everyone around you, freckles and all!
I have tons on my back and some on my arms too. I could see them in my pro pics but I just own them cause they are part of me! No one is gonna notice them thou....they'll be looking are you and and your dress and how beautiful you are.....no worries!
I have lots of moles, but the thought never even crossed my mind to worry about whether or not people saw them! I avoided strapless dresses for completely different reasons - I think they're overdone, and didn't feel it would have been appropriate for our church wedding. But if I'd wanted a strapless gown for some reason, I wouldn't have worried at all about my moles and freckles.
I think moles & freckles are beautiful. All of yours seem to lie flat; they're not grizzly or furry or anything. In my opinion they add visual interest and a great photographer will rock your moles. Don't cover them up :(
The older I get, the more "freckles" I accumulate, and I see more and more moles popping up. Thankfully the majority are flesh colored at the moment but some are dark.
As a kid I was incredible self-conscience of it, but now I have embraced it all. I can't help how I look. And I sure as heck am not going to be down on myself over something that no one can control :)
As some other posters said, none of your guests are going to notice them. And once you have that dress on, you won't either!
I have about the same amount of moles as you, OP, but a few of mine are larger.
I wore a halter neck and had a light spray tan, and did not even think of them.
Own 'em!
I have tons of freckles, as can be seen below. In some of our e-pics they showed up, in some they didn't.
I'm fair skinned and wasn't good about staying out of the sun as a teen. My whole junior and senior year of high school I managed to work up a tan, but guess what? A tan fades much faster than freckles.
In the past year I've taken to staying out of the sun or, when I can't resist our pretty Florida beaches, making sure I am well-sunscreened.

are there any other brides out there with big moles or freckles? i'm really trying not to stress out about it, but i'm worried about how i will look on my wedding day. i normally cover my skin as often as possible, but i fell in love with a strapless gown (i have never worn anything strapless in my life). my friends and family keep telling me to "embrace" them because they are "who i am," but that doesn't change that they are ugly! when i was younger, i didn't mind my skin. but for some reason, the older i get, the more conscious i am about them. i have a couple scars on my back too where i have had moles removed (i've had sixteen removed in the last three years). air-brush makeup is not an option, because it would be impossible to cover everything up. here is a picture of my arm for a reference, my back is way worse than this:
are there any other moley brides out there that have pictures of them on their wedding day?
