I wore Monique Lhuillier to my wedding. I definitely had a formal (NYC) wedding, but I probably picked one of the more simple Lhuillier gowns, which I think most brides would assume would only work for garden type weddings. In my opinion, it's all a matter of styling and accessorizing. I think you could definitely wear any of the styles you listed for a beach/gazebo/afternoon/outdoor affair. Instead of getting a long veil, for instance, opt for a birdcage, a fingertip, or just flowers in your hair. For jewelry, I would go for pearls vs. bling.
My dress is different from the Lhuillier styles you're looking at, but here are a couple of pictures anyway:

Im having an orthodox jewish wedding so i opted for sleeves, I have a different skirt though.
Here's my Monique! I'm adding a crystal sash but otherwise this is it! I still have to wait another month or so for it to come in. Hope this helps!
@rkbecker - I LOVE that dress, I'm just glad I can't afford it or I may be a two dress bride! Can't wait to see pics so you should definitely post as I haven't actually tried it on, but love everything about it!
Needless to say, great choice!
@RKBECKER wow your dress is amazing! how much wasit?
Thanks guys! It was a disgusting amount of money that I am embarrassed to admit to! I originally purchased "Elle" for just over $4,000 and decided it was everything I didn't want, so returned it and spent another $2,000 or so on Magical. But that includes the belt too! I was so distraught about spending that amount of money that I actually didn't even take pictures! Sigh. I'll be working a long time to pay it off! But I can't wait for it to come in and I'll post lots of pics when I get it next month!
I was a Monique bride!! I think my pics are too large to post (just tried and it failed, and I've had the same problem before)... I wore the style "Parisian" I love ML!
Scarlet bride here :)
The sample was a bit big on me but just got mine in last week and it is GORGEOUS in person!
Just looking at the pictures there is such a huge difference in one that fits right.
Hi ladies!
I will also be wearing "Scarlet." We bought the 4 inch wide gold Monique sash and I'm not sure how to tie it?? Should it be in a bow/knot, front/back, etc.?! I'm planning to only wear the sash for our Catholic wedding ceremony but remove it for the reception. I'll also be wearing a simple cathedral veil with lace trim only around the floor. If any brides have pictures of similar dresses w/sashes I'd love to see them!
Thanks in advance for the input!
@jmb584...I think we are dress twins! Did you wear the Edie? I did but modified it a little (ivory sash and I made it strapless). You look gorgeous in it! I also had a formal NYC black tie wedding and felt perfect in my dress.
I can't upload my pro pics so pardon the quality of this photo. It was from when we were taking pics on the cobblestone streets in Tribeca and one of my bm's snapped this one.
@marlie: we ARE dress twins! It's nice to meet someone else who wore Edie- it's a gorgeous dress, especially in person. You look beautiful!
I love Monique Lhuillier! So beautiful! Any brides selling looking to sell Monique Lhuillier Magical gown after their wedding?
i like the belleflower from fall 2011 anyone know how much? I found it at a shoppe in WI its on their website I havent set an appt. with them tho and of course the price is not on the page.
Hi, I loooove the ML Scarlet!!! Anyone looking to sell theirs, sz 4-6, after their wedding? I will be getting married in Nov 2011, but have waited too long to get a dress and now will have to find a pre-owned one. Please let me know if anyone is looking to sell!
@hwinters29: Hi there! I would suggest posting your request in the classifieds with the heading "looking for ML Scarlet" - the odds of someone seeing your request here is a lot lower than if you started your own post. (also, have you checked preownedweddingdresses.com and oncewed.com? they have preowned dresses and the first site has a bunch of Moniques) Good luck, I hope you find your dream dress!!!
I love the Edie! You both look fantastic.
I fell in love with Valeria in a magazine ad, but at $10k it was twice the absolute maximum I was willing to spend, so I never tried it on.

I saw the Valeria dress that is retail for like 13.5K and size 8, in perfect condition, at Neiman Marcus Bridal sample sale in Down-town Dallas just couple of days ago. If you live in the DFW area and are interested in this gown, hurry up over there, that dress was 75% off and it was little over 3k after the discount. From 13k to 3.3k? you can't beat that, but I already have two ML gowns...I dont need another one. I was only trying to look for accessory but there was none included in the sale.
I posted about a few Monique dresses in the Church Street thread (the one that has 500+ posts right now). They have a bunch of samples...most are selling for less than $650. They have opera for $500, bllelh for $350, a bliss with a tear for $300, Grace for $300 (without the over skirt), Dolce for $400 (with a tulle repair needed).
See page 10 of that thread for pictures. :)

Morning Hive!
I'm starting the dress hunt and would LOVE love love a Monique Lhuillier gown. The cost is insane so I'll probably buy preowned, but before I do I was hoping to see pics of real brides in their gowns, would anyone mind posting pics?
I'm a huge fan of Swan Lake, but I also love Mirnada, Monet, Scarlet... okay they are all gorgeous. haha.
Also - I'm fairly certain we're doing a beach wedding. Maybe not on the beach, but close enough (boardwalk gazebo or hotel rooftop is what I'm thinking). Do you think these gowns are too formal for a beach wedding?
Thanks!
