I got married in upstate New York (about an hour and a half away from Montreal) but we imported our photographer from Montreal!
She was probably my favorite vendor and we looooove our photos!
Also I love Montreal, we just pop up there for a day trip or two every summer and it's always fantastic. :-)

I thought I would provide as much detail as possible to help anyone desperately searching for details as I was. There are a lot of bad vendours out there. Buyer beware!
I am missing one detail for the wedding now. Does anyone know of a fair priced rentor of fabric for ceilings of event tents?
That's all for now. I have to jet off to Europe for 10 days to accompany my fiancee on a work trip. I just graduated last week and this is my gift before I am head deep in wedding planning. ahhh! Gotta love frequent flyer points.
All the best,
Allison
Hi, I'm a Montreal bride too, although actually we are planning to get married in NYC, where we love to go and where we got engaged... The date is September 5, 2010.
I will be a Montreal bride. I'm currently going to school in Waterloo, but once I'm done, I'll be moving here and we're getting married on October 10, 2010!
We've booked a little restaurant called L'Ambroisie. The chefs are amazing and the manager is a great guy who's willing to do anything we want for our day. They do primarily french cuisine but can do anything if we ask for it. They seat about 100 comfortable indoors, but they have a nice terrace which can seat abouth another 100.
Since that's Thanksgiving weekend, I'm thinking of having stuffed chicken for one of the menu options (I thought of doing turkey, but it's kidn of a waste of these amazing chefs to just make turkey). I'm thinking that each person could have their own tiny cornish hen so they'd be cute individual stuffed birds. Cornish hen insteaad of regular chicken because it's generally not as dry and they're smaller (about half the size of a regular chicken). I'm Chinese so I'll have a few Chinese people coming to my reception and we generally don't like chicken because we just find it too dry. I'm also going with a fall decoration colour theme... red, orange, yellow, green, brown napkins, some vines and silk leaves all over the place, etc.
But the bridal party will probably be dressed in non-fall colours. I couldn't decide what to do about that, really because there is no way I want my bridesmaids in red or orange... so I picked sage green and I think the groomsmen will probably wear a royal blue colour. I haven't fully decided yet.
I'm a future Montreal bride.
Wedding date: April 17, 2010
Ceremony: In the works.
Venue: Le Baron Royal in St. Leonard
Colors: Still being decided. Really like yellow and green
Hello All

Need lots of help!
I've got an update!
Wedding date:April 17, 2010
Ceremony: Church on the corner of René Levesque & de la Visitation
Venue: Le Baron Royal in St. Leonard
Colors: Green, Yellow, and a touch of aqua
Other info:
About 120 guests, but still narrowing it down. Food is a buffet. I'm making my own cake. One of my good friends is offering her amazing photography skills as a wedding gift.
Hey Montreal,
Where are you getting your hair/make-up done? I'm new to Montreal, and don't know any of this. I'm also looking for hair removal/spa services. I'm not overly concerned with cost... I've had bad experiences with cheap service. You get what you pay for and all. Anyone?
There's the hair salon next to the Dollarama at the Complexe Desjardins. They're really good and they don't cost a fortune.
I'm stll trying to find a hair salon in the Ste. Dorothee area and I can't find anything!
I'm from Montreal! Not many of us are there? :S
When it comes to salons....I trust no one! I have had so many bad experiences. I'm lost as well. It's hard to find a good hairdresser.
There is a place in tmr that I go to. I recommend it. Do you know the area?
Hi everybody!
I too am a Montreal bride but have been mostly checking out the DIY and month twins boards. I am getting married June 2011 and am still stuck on choosing a church. After I've done that, I will book the venue (our yacht club we've been members at since I'm small) and so forth. I'm planning on attending the circus that is the bridal salon next saturday with some friends who are also engaged. and really want to go although I've found the internet much more useful. Anyone else going to brave the crowds???
@principessabunny: are you talking about deauville?
BTW I am forever indebetted to this post..a Michaels? In Ottawa???
Nice!
Wedding date:11/11/2011
Ceremony:not sure wether civil or religious yet
Venue:le chateau classique in st-leonard
Colors:ivory.. not sure about my other colour
firemuffy I worked at the salon a few years ago... they are really good... it is owned my Jacques Despars and it its own "school " if we could say its consitence training and courses.
I moved here about 6 years ago so I'm not from Montreal but I love it here. My fiancee and I bought a house together a few years ago so I am determined to have a budget friendly wedding and am trying to make a lot of things myself.
Wedding date: July 3rd, 2010
90 guests
Ceremony: St. Raphael Golf Course in Ile Bizard
Venue: Stewart Hall in Pointe-Claire
http://www.thefriendsofstewarthall.ca/main.htm
Colors: Pink/Brown/Green
Theme (if applicable): Since Stewart Hall has lake front view, I decided to go with a garden whimsicle theme. I decided to make about 40 pinwheels (yeah I'm crazy) to have as center pieces for the tables on the patio.
Other info: I am planning to also save money by using my peonies from my garden so I hope that they don't bloom too early.
My wedding favors are homemade vanilla extract and vanilla sugar, I found a supplier on ebay and got 1lb of vanilla beans (which is about 120 beans) for about $45. I also found a supplier for the bottles in Brampton, ON so I didn't have to pay for duties, I researched cheap vodka so the cost for all this? About $2.50/favor.
Along with the invites, I used a free wedding site for all of our guests (and out of town) to get details on our wedding and to RSVP to save on time and money (postage)
How about everyone else?
What are you doing to be thrifty?

Welcome to the local boards. I think this will be a great way to share questions and suggestions with all you local brides.
As many of yous already know, I am the only Montrealer bee on wedding bee. Though I love being the only one, at times I find it hard because there aren't that many local readers. (I know of a few)
So my question is this... any montreal brides? Share your details
