While everyone is buzzing around here (heh), I thought it might be a good time to ask if any NYC bees would be down for a meetup? I don't know if there is any official protocol for planning this, but I have an idea for a cheap place (with free food!), and I'd LOVE to meet some of my fellow bees!

I'm not in the city anymore--need to update my location. But this sounds fun. :-) I need more positive excuses to leave and get back to the city.

I think it'd be fun. :-) We moved to Westchester recently, but right across from the Metro North station. So still easy city access.
I would totally be in! I've actually been hoping someone would arrange a NY meetup

I live in Westchester, work in NYC and am getting married in Albany.. Hahaha... Can I still join??
@judithsr: Where do you live?? There are so few Westchester bees, I get so excited when I find one!!! I'm in Harrison.
Oh, that would be uber fun. There are sooo many NYC brides I'd love to meet! Free food is good too :)

The place I'm thinking of has free appetizers on Monday nights til 9:00 (boneless buffalo wings, margherita pizza, calamari and hummus are the options). Their happy hour goes til 9:00 too ($5 flavored martinis!). Is that something that sounds like it would work for you bees? Or would you prefer a weekend shindig?
I work in the city until 6pm so a Monday night works for me. But maybe people coming from Westchester would prefer a weekend? Idk anyone else have any thoughts?
Yes please! I work in Manhattan but if I have enough notice I can get in on a weekend too.
Monday is better for me since I am already in the city for work and don't have to make an extra trip into the city on the weekend train! :)

Would you ladies mind if a waiting bee joined you? fingers crossed I'll be planning my own wedding soon! lol I'm in Bergen County, so not far!
Should be okay with me I just need a confirmation and a location!

@Miss. Flutterby: I am going to call the place today and check availability. It's called Croton Reservoir Tavern, and its on 40th and 6th Ave, right across from Bryant Park.
I'll let everyone know as soon as I get ahold of them!

And I'm sorry guys, I forgot to call last night because I was really sick and knocked out as soon as I took cough syrup, but I am going to make sure to reserve it tonight!

And you said near Bryant Park right? That would be awesome, because I'd have to take the train to Grand Central. And that would be super convenient. :-)
@TinyTina: I'm a bit unobservant...just saw your comment. I live in Hastings. :-) For almost a month now. I think we're on the same section, but opposite side of the land piece. If that's a proper way to describe geography.
I love a bee meet up, I think that day should be perfect for me, too! When we have all the details confirmed, I can post it on the front page.
Sounds great to me as well. September the 19th would be the Monday before our wedding, so I'm sure I'll be needing some down time!
Are married bee's welcome? Or is this just a bride to bee thing?
I work right around Croton! Used to go there all the time!
Yay! I'm so excited to see all this activity while I was out of commission this weekend!
I remain sick, and as you all know, Irene threw a wrench in a lot of things this weekend, but I WILL call today, hell or high water! :D

YAY! We have a confirmed date - Monday, September 19th at 7:00 pm! We'll be meeting in the downstairs section of Croton Resevoir Tavern, 108 West 40th Street, right by the corner of 40th and 6th Avenue (and across the street from Bryant Park).
I am SO excited for my first Bee meetup!

I am still sick actually, but trying to plough through - the hurricane-enforced home rest this weekend didn't help, so what else can I do? lol
