We just got married in June and now find ourselves pregnant. Not a honeymoon baby but just after. :) Any other pregnant newlyweds out there? What websites/blogs are a good read?
Aw! Congrats! :) How long were y'all together before you got married? I think that is the big thing with a lot of newlyweds. I'm sure you will be just fine.
Going to the doctor this week, but so far yes! Thanks! We've been together for 2.5 years, but I'm 30 so when I found the one I just snatched him up! haha
I'm not expecting but hope to be soon. Lately I've been following the personal blog of Mrs. Kiwi and His boys can swim.
Aw, I think you guys probably know a lot more about eachother than most couples do when they have babies. At least you aren't a new couple...just started dating and had a shotgun wedding! :) There's an upside to everything.
Not a newlywed yet or pregnant but I just want to say CONGRATS!!!
Congrats! I totally want to get pregnant after the big day!!! (:
Congratulations PK! We've only been married for 16 days, but working on it since day one ;)
Hahaha, doctorgirl, you're funny! We are the same way! We've both always known we've wanted kids and we are sooo ready for the first one to come. Congratulations, PrettyKitty! Keep us updated.
I got married on July 12, 2009, and found out yesterday that I am preggers. Honeymoon baby. I forgot to take my BC and thought I will start a new package when my period comes. Well it never arrived. My husband wanted to have kids right away, but I wanted to wait at least year. It's a little over whelming to get pregnant so quickly. Especially since my clock is not ticking. I think I need to change the battery or something. Not that I don't want kids. I would love to start a family, but the timing is a bit off. My husband is very very happy.
CONGRATS PrettyKitty! How exciting :)
and
CONGRATS to you too Xquisite_elle :)
Congrats! I hope I will have a honeymoon baby or right before....we'll see what happens!
Thanks everyone! Any good blog reads other than the two suggestions?
DoctorGirl: you are a lady who know what they wants! Its fun being a newlywed! ;)
Xquisite-elle: It IS overwhelming! We weren't "trying" either-it just sort of happened. We thought we wanted to wait a year, but life has a way of deciding whats best. You'll get through this girl-new batteries or not!
PK... I don't really have any baby blog suggestions. I just wanted to chime in with a hearty "CONGRATULATIONS!", my dear date twin! :o)
Congratulations! I'm now almost 6 months pregnant and almost 8 months married... do the math. :) We weren't planning on it -- I couldn't get any type of BC I wanted to use through the State health dept before the wedding, so we were waiting for the new insurance for his job to kick in so I could go to the doctor. Well, the week it kicked in we went to go see his brother graduate from bootcamp, and I did my fertility math wrong that weekend. It was really stressful and scary at first, but we're doing better now and adjusting to the idea of becoming parents a few years sooner than expected. :)
I don't read a lot of personal pregnancy blogs, per se, but I do read a lot of natural birth support and info sites, like theunnecesarean.com. Another one I read is written by a female OB/GYN who is also a young mom, obgynkenobi.blogspot.com. I'd really like to see any personal sites recommendations -- a lot of the ones I read are pretty strict in their views. Unnecesarean has a great archive of birth stories, though.
Congrats to you both, PrettyKitty and Xquisite_elle!!!
WB has a sister site, JustMommies.com that has tons of resources and a helpful Community for Mommies to be. Hope you find it helpful!
Wow! Congrats. Now I'm totally freaked out
I like practicing making a baby, just not ready yet :)
Congrats to both of you!!!! I think we'll be in that boat too bcoz we want kids soon but want to be married first....and Mr H is actually the one with the more ticking clock...even though he's younger.....Hugs and best wishes to you ladies!!!!
Congrats, ladies! As a young-ish bride, we're planning on waiting for at least a few years, but I can't wait to be ready :)
i know i said this at the meet-up, but again, congratulations!
oh how exciting-- congratulations to everyone!
surprise or planned....babies are a wonderful thing!! Congrats! :)
Congratulations! That's exciting. My cousin just had her baby and she read thebump.com it's a sister site to theknot.com. You might enjoy it!
You should start a blog like weddingbee but for new mommies. How awesome would that be...and by the time I get pregnant you'll have it up and running! haha Congratulations!
I'm pregnant with a honeymoon baby! If some of you aren't familiar, I started a couple threads 7 or 8 months ago in the Catholic forum regarding birth control and natural family planning. It's sort of funny because I wrote "I GUARENTEE I will get pregnant on my honeymoon..." if I didn't use birth control (We were trying natural family planning). In any case, we were waiting until we were married, and after calculating when I started spotting, I got pregnant either on my wedding night or the night after--so basically the first or second time we had sex. How bout them apples!?
At first I cried, but now I'm warming up to the idea. It is a blessing. My first appointment is Sept. 22, and we're going to tell our families and friends after that.
Congratulations to everyone! That's so exciting! I love babies!!
Even though I am nowhere near ready for kids, I do read several "mommy blogs". I recommend dooce.com and girlsgonechild.net. If you search the archives in both they have a lot of pregnancy posts, and dooce actually just had a baby so her current stuff is a bit about that as well.
Just thought I'd bump this up to see if there are any more newlywed and newly pregnant bees? We just found out we are expecting and my due date is my 1 year anniversary. How's that for an anniversary present?!
CONGRATULATIONS PrettyKitty!
I am married but not preggy yet. The baby fever is high though :)
We haven't really been planning. We are in the whatever happens, happens mood.
I'm due December 24th. We waited 6 months to start trying and it happened right away. We didn't want to wait too long since I was 29 when we got married (I was 30 before I finished the first trimester). So far so good!
I do read a bunch of mommy/pregnancy blogs- (I HATE thebump.com- I found it to be full of old wives tails and misinformation):
