I am right there with you.  White + me =BAD.  Dark Red dress for me.  No pics yet.  I bought this online, and I want my mom to be the first person to see me in the dress (one of the few traditions I’m holding onto).

I’ve still gotta get the dress, but it’ll be black with colored brocade.  I’ll have a white gown with a black & silver underbust corset for the ceremony and a few “traditional-type” pictures to appease my family and his…. unless it rains… then i’ll be in my other gown!!!

no pictures yet, but here’s a link to the gown I want to get and have altered so it’ll be shorter and doesn’t touch the ground:

I’ve been drooling over that gown for a few years now, lol.  since we’re having a fantasy-themed wedding, it’ll be PERFECT!!!!

I think your green dress will be lovely!  Perhaps pair with with a little pillbox (in the same color?) with netting?  Super-cute & vintage-y.  I think it was more popular many years ago to wear colored gowns, but you still get some now and then-I think I’ve seen them on the Bee!  I wore a creamy, buttery ivory, but I know that doesn’t count.  My friend wore a hot pink dress!!  If I get her permission, or I can Photoshop out her face, I’ll post.  I  don’t think it’s key to look “bridal-y,” and you can look bridal in a colored gown.
