I have a almost 5 month old son and I haven’t been able to pump because he hasn’t been eating like he use to. Anyways I am giving him rice cereal and it needs to have breast milk with it. Is there a pill that mothers highlly recommend that would help me pump more?

Not a mother, but I would highly consider having a chat with a lactation expert or the LLL before you start wasting time and money on consuming things that may not work and may be harmful: http://www.llli.org/webus.html

Fenugreek. get it at a organic store. i have gotten the kind from GNC and didnt seem to work as well. perhaps it was just in my head. Also LOTS and LOTS of water! my doctor did say she could perscribe me something but i decided on the Fenugreek instead

I took fenugreek. That’s what the LC recommended. I think it helped a little.

I use a medication for migraines that the pharmacist assumed I was using for breast feeding. I have it as a liquid and not a pill.

Bored6: my dr had me take Reglan because as a side affect it causes more milk production. However, it was awful. I was tired…zombie tired all the time.
I would recommend doing every thing you can naturally before resorting to a pill. Like previous poster mentioned, drink tons of water!

I ate / drank lactation cookies and tea, you might also want to look into your nutrition and hydration as well as adding in an early morning pumping session. If you’re already pumping, check your membranes etc to make sure your pump is fully functional and hand expressing might also be an option for you (particularly if you only need a small amount of milk for cereal).
