Have you looked into Lenhardts (sp) in Montauk? Its a cute series of little cottages across the street from the dunes leading to the ocean. I stayed there when I was little and absolutely loved it. They're maybe 2 minutes from the main town area, off Old Montauk Rd I believe.
That's the first one that I thought of that you might like :)
@jennab503: Lenhardt's looks cute! The diea of a cottage on the beach is really cute!
Anyone else know of any good Long Island area hotels?
Thanks!

Hey Bees,
So I'm trying to plan a surprise b-day weekend for the FI out on Long Island. I bought him flying lessons that take place in Farmingdale. I would like to turn this into a little trip by staying over night somewhere in Long Island. I was thinking of something either near Jones Beach/Fire Island, or maybe Montauk - or maybe near the vineyards. I'm really pretty clueless here. This would be in May, before Memorial Day so I would like to find a good deal if possible.
Do any of you know any good Long Island hotels? It doesn't have to be 5-Star, most importantly I want to be in a NICE location (near the beach or near the vineyards or in a cute town u know) so it could be a beach motel for all I care.
Any suggestions?
THANKS!
