I've got the cake and punch ready...who's graduating?

As far as the cake I want to have for my graduation, I prefer a rich chocolate ganache cake. Maybe a champagne punch too?

Wow, sounds like we had a relatively un-graduate weekend. Sad!!! Maybe we'll ahve like, 10 next weekend! Cre, if you keep changing your mind it'll NEVER happen!
@KM: omg he actually surprised me today and sat down and looked (i mean REALLY LOOKED) at the amethyst that is actually more of a forerunner than the others... i kept going back to the pricescope ring but wheni explained the significance i thnk he really liked that...

nothing from me [but that'll be my standard answer for at least another year!] but the weekend isn't over yet! so maybe we'll get some great news from someone else!
@jaxx: I KNOW RIGHT!! then i had a very good friend who made me tell him about when she received a ring as a gift from her grandparents when she was a child, basically they put it on a tree during christmas and she had to find it, but she counldn't so she collapsed onto the floor in tears. they disassembled the entire tree to find it, and my friend's mom told her next time we'll put it on a beautiful pink ribbon so that you can find it!
my friend is determined too that it will happen on Christmas Day or at least by Valentine's Day.
I bet there will be at least 3 graduates by next monday!!!
eeeeeeee i can't wait to hear the stories and see the bling! I wonder if I will ever get tired of bling? My bets on no... :D
i wish there was an engagement post to swoon over! I hope for there to be a few over the long weekend coming up! :)

i was sure that i was going to get asked this weekend, since he said that he was going to do it last weekend, but he was sick. i can see now that he's just making excuses and it's making me aggravated. i kind of feel like he's bs-ing me about asking me before thanksgiving and i'm doubting that he's going to actually do it at all.
Ok. I am that friend who almost had her Christmas wrecked with the crazy tree story. Yep. That was me! I was really little. Like 9 or 10 or something.
They (my grandparents) bought me a beautiful 14k gold and diamond ring. My first diamond ring. It was a heart shape and in the center a .2 diamond. I wanted that ring soooo bad!
But here's the kicker. They took the ring and placed it on the tree's branches and with all the gorgeous Christmas bling on it, I couldn't find my ring. Just slipped it directly onto the tree branch.
I remember searching for like an hour or two and then falling down on the floor crying in a puddle of tears. They had to take the entire tree apart, ornaments and all, to find the ring.
Moral to this wacky story is to remember, if your guy wants to do something like this, to put a satin ribbon around the ring and hang it from a COLORED SATIN RIBBON not stick it directly onto the tree's branch. Like make it sorta visable!
And YES I think Crebre's time is coming.
Now what pray tell is the amethyst ring? Is it purple amethyst or green? I wanna see which one you've got your eye on :)
Will everybody on waiting let me know PLEASE what type of cake you wish to have and what flavor of punch? No alcohol in the punch unless you're legal!!! lol!!! Nothing like a good champagne punch or even a rum punch!!!

I bet you're right... and as much as I'd love for it not to be cliched around a holiday etc... with my parents being in town next week... my chances are much higher... lol. It needs to happen soon so I can get some dress shopping in while my mom is here! lol
My boyfriend is in Detroit this weekend, so...nope, not me. Not expecting it any time soon though.

@Bellenga - That is now a quite funny story, but ill bet it was devastating when it happened! Especially with all the tinsel and ornaments!!! Sounds like a good idea at the time i guess :-)
@Iggies - im sure he is just trying to make it perfect! Trying to stall you because there is some crazy issue that he cant tell you about :-) Try to put your mind off it!! Browsing the jewellery stores does not count as taking your mind off it!! ha ha
We have some progress though, we have been having April 2011 in mind for our wedding and the man is talking about a bit earlier, maybe February 2011. Originally he said September 2010, but we are heading to Europe for a 3 week holiday in October so that wouldnt really work - we could have had it as our honeymoon, but we have already planned to be with people for most of the time, so probably not the best!
He knows i would like at least 9-12 months to just be engaged and plan the wedding, so that could mean a Feb 2010 engagement :-)
@misssydne: that still puts you at the tail end of the engagement blitz season and that's not a long time from now by any means!!
I'm hoping for sometime this week or next week...fingers are crossed! Congrats to you, futuremrsbyrd!

I want to graduate!!!!! I'm thinking maybe in a couple weeks. We didn't go center stone shopping this weekend as it was opening day for hunting on Saturday so we spent all weekend at my parents where the hunting is prime - although he came home sans buck... but I'm still sans e-ring so I guess we're even!!! :)
@mattel: lmbo sans buck sans ring!!! i think yours is coming by christmas at least.. do you know if he's asked your parents, i bet if he hasn't he definitely had a talk with them during the hunt?!
