At some point that's the size your baby is or will be? I have been craving black berry's but I know that next week (tomorrow!) that's going to be my baby and I can't eat it. It seems like fruit is the thing I'm craving the most these days but I'm so turned off by the thought of "eating my baby"

    Yes. I'm being irrational. :p

Haha, my best friend is pregnant, and she tells me the different fruit every week! She is due April 2.  I wonder what fruit she is this week!?

hahha. I never heard of this analogy before until my Cousin in Law was pregnant and they kept referring to the fruits each week. I was like what the heck are they talking about?! I thought it was a private inside joke. eheh.

I'll be honest - I'm the type that would probably make a point to actually eat whatever fruit coresponded to my baby's size each week!  Maybe I'm just weird .....

haha I had no idea what your post was going to say! I read about this on Mrs. Nacho's blog every week and think it's so cute. You are being irrational, but I bet there are a lot of women out there who feel the same!

I said something to the doctor about how weird it was on Monday. She laughed, but it's so weird to be eating a sweet potato thinking "this is the size of my baby."

I'd never heard of the fruit thing until I started reading Mrs. Nacho's blog. I love the fruit pictures she draws on the whiteboard. On a slightly related note, I stumbled upon this website last night. I'm saving it for my husband.

I love knowing it! I don't follow it much on the bump, but when I do, I look at it in the grocery store to get an idea of how big the baby is.LOL

Haha I thought you were going to say: Are you ever creeped out eating fruit knowing that you are eating a plant uterus?

    (Strawberries = plant uterus)

It creeps me out a little sometimes...

Earlier on in my pregnancy we were visiting my grandma's house and she has about 15 avocado trees in her back yard. DH ran up to me as I was coming out of the bathroom and put one against my belly and tried to visualize the baby being that size. I think my grandma thought we were nuts!

Hahaha! That's hilarious. I can honestly say I never thought of that. But I did send my husband an email telling him "Your baby is a lemon" :)

@crayfish: Actually, yes. I was eating an apple last night to help me keep down my vitamins, and I just start thinking, "Gross... This is an ovary!" :)

But as far as baby size goes, no. I'm not creeped out. It would have to be a very deformed peach (I think thats the week I'm in) to look like my baby!

When my MOH found out her sister was pregnant the baby was the size of a peanut. So that because it's nick-name. Even now that the girl is 3 her nick-name is still peanut and her mom can't eat peanuts because she feels like she is eating her daughter. She even admits its weird and irrational. So when her other sister got pregnant and the baby was announced to be the size of a cashew she refused to let me MOH call her baby "Cashew" because she loved eating them too much... a poke at her sister for refusing to eat peanuts.
