Hello Bees! I just need some input. I have very, very vague pregnancy symptoms. The only two that really stand out are the very unusually sore nipples/way heavier breasts (weird symptom but I read it online) and strange food cravings which could just be coincidence. Anyway, I took a blue dye test tonight and although I took it the wrong way, I see the faintest almost invisible line. I mean, I really have to turn it in a certain angle to see the faintest hint of it. The second test, I can’t really see anything. I’m not positive though. The line is so faint on the first test. I’ve read that blue dye tests are the worst, but now I’m pretty nervous. My FI went and bought two more tests that are the red/pink dye ones so I’m waiting to check those. Does anyone have any experience with blue dye tests? Does the faintest-almost-invisible line mean a positive pregnancy? Or should I just shut up and take the new tests? Currently chugging a bottle of water…
Thanks so much for your help. I’m one nervous woman right now.

Blue dye tests are notorious for being vague or less accurate. It’s best to do a 4 hour hold (so your urine will be really concentrated with HCG if you are pregnant) and then take a FRER. You can chug water, but that will mean that you will just be peeing out water….so I would just try and wait the four hours, as hard as that might be! Good luck!

Audrey2_sings: Thank you so much. I took a digital test after I chugged water and it came out negative. However, the faint line on the blue test is still making me feel unsure. I’ll take another test in the morning, although that one won’t be digital. Ah!

I had the most convincing blue line ever. It wasn’t even thin or light but it was off-center. I was not pregnant.

turnanewleaf: Oh no!!! Yeah, I’m thinking blue dye tests should just be banned forever!

Definitely need to get a pink dye FRER. The digital may come out negative because you’re early and they are not as sensitive, or because you chugged water and your pee was too diluted, or both. Do a four hour hold, or wait for first morning urine, then use the FRER.
