I’ve been on it for 2 years.  I didn’t experience any weight gain or bad side effects.  Before Lo Loestrin, I was on Yaz and I would get awful cramps and mood swings.  Thankfully, I’ve had none of that since changing my BC.

I’m on it and it seems fine. I like it because it’s low-dose. Side effects are different for everyone so you’ll just have to see.

I am!

I’ve tried Yasmin, Yaz, Ortho Tricyclen-Lo in the past for various reasons before landing on Lo Loestrin.  First month, no period.  Second month.. starting to freak out.. no period again.  Not that I’m complaining or anything, but this can’t possibly be healthy.  So one month I’ll eventually get my period and the flow is ridic heavy of course.  Also, my usually zit-free face (from taking Yaz) has turned into an occasionally-pimply me.  I’m not thrilled, but I also haven’t gained weight on it either.  I’m taking the good with the bad, I suppose.  I might bump up and get just regular Loestrin 24 to see if my periods start getting regular again.

@engleman10513: I was prescribed this back in September; it seemed to do okay at first then I developed cystic acne, near-constant bloating, no sex drive and my periods (which had at first been 2-3 days with a similar flow to spotting) turned into miserable 2-3 week long heavy flows. I stopped taking them in April.

However, BC is different for every body and every woman! I hope that you have success with it!! 🙂

I’m on this and prior to this pill I tried just about everything. I gained weight CONSTANTLY no matter what I did. I changed to Loestrin and Ive been able to lose 45 lbs of weight that I gained on the other pills.

@romantical:  I don’t get my period (like…ever) on Loestrin 24 Fe. I’m considering switching just due to price though (my old insurance covered it much better at only $14/month, but I switched to my husband’s after we got married and I just can’t deal w/ $40/month for bc)

I’ve been on it for 7 years and haven’t had any real bad side effects. However I have gotten a bad pack a couple of times, curiously only when I filled the perscription at a CVS. The first time I got really bad migraines from the bad pack, and the second time I had out of control anxiety and panic attacks. Warner Chilcott was pretty good about it though and refunded me.

I was on it before, the only problem was that I had some breakthrough bleeding on it.  I switched to something just slightly higher in hormone dosage and that did the trick.

I am! I haven’t gained any weight and I’m on month 7.

I will say for the first 6 months, I wasn’t too happy with it.  I still had terrible cramps, I got my period sometimes 3 times a month (just for a few days), and my face broke out around month 2.

All of sudden, within the last 2 months, I feel SO MUCH BETTER! I still have cramps so I take midol to help with them, but I’ve finally started to feel more ‘normal’.  My face cleared up really quick and has stayed clear, my hair grew quite a bit, and I feel healthier and happier.  I’m prone to INSANE mood swings and I feel like I can control myself better on LoLoestrin.

Besides from the price tag of getting the precriptions ($45 with military insurance and a $10 off coupon!), it’s perfect for me.

BTW, LoLoestrin is the brand spanking new one (the one I’m on) …Loestrin has been around for a while
