Hi All! I am 15w3d today and I still haven’t told my family yet!
SO and I do not like attention so we decided to wait until AFTER Christmas to tell everyone! With so much extended family around we did not want Christmas to be about us and getting questioned, etc. Fortunately the baby is going a long with it and I am really not showing yet even though I am up 10 lbs..I just look like I have been eating too many christmas cookies! haha.
On that note, we do plan on breaking the news to our families tomorrow 🙂 🙂 So excited!

- Wedding: July 2013 - Rock Hill Country Club, Manorville NY
I can’t remember how far along she was, but my coworker and friend was due in July and didn’t tell her family until January/February. She and her FI were not married, nor engaged yet, but both in their mid 20s with good jobs. I think she was afraid of what her parents and future in laws would think, but of course, they were beside themselves with happiness. She hid it KIND OF well and never got too big.

Omgosh I have no idea how anyone is able to keep it a secret that long. U are good! Im only 6w6d but we are telling the family today. Keeping it from the the past week (I only found out last Wed) has been difficult enough since I see them almost daily lol.

My husband and I didn’t tell our familys until Christmas Eve. (15 weeks 6 days) We knew we’d have to deal with all the questions and we just decided, well, I decided I would rather tell my ENTIRE family all at one time instead of having to tell everyone individually. It worked out really well because his family comes to my family’s Christmas. It went over really well, and everyone is really excited. It was a little difficult to keep it to ourselves, but I’m a worrier and I really wanted to make sure everything looked okay before I got family’s hopes up. This is the first baby in the family in 13 years. We haven’t made it “facebook official” because I haven’t told work yet, but I will when we go back after the new year. I figure at almost 18 weeks I may be showing by then.

We’ve told our family but I haven’t told anyone at work yet and I’m 16w5d. I’m not showing so it’s been really easy to hide!

I told my extended family at 18 weeks… no real reason, just sort of happened that way lol. I’m almsot 23 weeks now, still not showing, so I guess I could have waited longer if I had wanted to!

Well not from family or friends, but I’m sure that half my work doesn’t know I’m pregnant (I’m 26 weeks FWIW!). I told HR and my supervisor and a few coworkers also know (that I’ve talked to about it). I’m not really hiding it on purpose, I just don’t feel like making some big announcement.

@JustMe12182: I was 13+4 when I saw my dad at my nieces soccer game. We haven’t really spoken since June & I really didn’t feel the need to tell him about the baby, so I didn’t. I didn’t end up telling him until 19w after our anatomy scan & even then I told him through an email. I still haven’t tlaked to him so I don’t have anything to say to him. You’ll have to let us know how things go with sharing the good news! Congrats to you!

@kes18: yeah, I am not making an announcement at work! We have a monthly meeting that always ends with “celebrations” and that is when everyone talks about babies/weddings/etc.
I am going to be at my June monthly meeting ready to pop and still not making a big announcement.
Unfortunately my principal is a huge blabber mouth so I know as soon as I tell her everyone will know and she will probably MAKE me “celebrate” it even though I don’t want to.

Ive got a girlfriend who was married and living in a seperate state from her family. Her husband was military and she was a admin clerk, they had loving families, and all. Her daughter was born December 26th..she didnt tell anyone until December 10th! So 16 whole days before birth! Mind you, it was easier for her to not tell since she didnt see family
