Hi another ATL/metro bee! I’m really of no helpbecause I’m eloping but I still want to look at venues to have some bridal “experiences” if that makes sense! There’s so many pretty places around here! What kinda style are you looking for?

Yes! I’m marrying at the whitlock inn in marietta in 18 days! Though I live in buckhead. It’s a hidden gem! Check it out! You have to take a tour bc it’s so much different than in pictures. It’s a 1900s circa mansion and just beautiful! I’m having a vintagy southern charm evening wedding. The entire venue has soo much charm and character!

Yay for other Atlanta bees!

KeriLeigh1338:  My FI and I have chosen 200 Peachtree in downtown Atlanta. The space is absolutely beautiful and fit the look we were going for. It is a bit on the pricier side but for us it just seemed to be worth it. Do you have any venues in mind as of yet?

tkala:  What a gem! It looks beautiful.

I got married 8/30 at The Foundry at Puritan Mill! Loved the space, I knew I didn’t want a ballroom wedding and the industrial backdrop worked perfectly with my rustic and natural look.

It is quite large though so if you want a smaller wedding it may not be for you. I had both my ceremony and reception there.

I’ve been to a wedding at the Biltmore Ballroom which was quite beautiful and elegant!

tkala:  I grew up down the street from whitlock Inn!

OP: I got married at the Primerose Cottage in Roswell. If you give us more of an idea what you were looking for in a venue maybe we could provide more suggestions.

After much back and forth and drama with another venue, we have chosen to marry at Glen-Ella springs in Clarkesville. Luci could not have been more helpful so far (I’m planning from a distance and haven’t even met her!) I’m truly looking forward to this whole planing experience now.

OtterHalf:  oh primrose is so lovely. It was one of my runner ups, but it ended up being overbudget for us. 🙁

KeriLeigh1338:  After looking at a million places, only ONE has everything on my checklist-Callanwolde fine arts center!

Here is what I want:

-private (one wedding a day)

-multiple event spaces to use inside and outside (no room flipping yikes)

-Can bring my own alcohol, and choose my own caterer

-Is in-town, so it’s convenient for local people and those traveling from the airport

-plenty of nearby lodging

-Is a house/mansion with manicured gardens

-has lots of trees (fall wedding yay)

-has plenty of parking

My FI and I love this place! It’s exactly what we want, but it’s pricier than the other venues we checked out. The rental fee is $6k. We are fine with that because it’s perfect, but the frugal side of me is still peeking around to see if we can find something similar for cheaper. I doubt it though. It’s a stunning place! It’s nice to have a place in the city that is still really beautiful. I didn’t want to have a city/concrete-filled wedding, but also didn’t want to have my guests travel out into theidle of nowhere to achieve that. Hopefully the ability to bring our own alcohol and choose ourbown caterer will let us negotiate some better costs in those areas 🙂

SN: Tell us what you are looking for and maybe we can suggest places. I’m familiar with a lot of venues because I work I’m the industry and because of my own personal search 🙂

OtterHalf:  primrose is stunning! I would have chosen that but my fiances  sister had her 2nd wedding there a few years before and unfortunately divorced again so it didn’t feel right to us but if it wasn’t for her having her wedding there before, it would have been perfect. I also toured and love flint hill, hazlehurst house, the atrium, and Victoria belle. All lovely, whitlock was more cost effective, charming and the owners didn’t treat us like another number, that’s why we really chose it! 🙂

Hello Atlanta Bees

I am also looking for a venue. I want an industrial, loft like decor and a place that allows me to bring my own liquor. It would be nice to stay in the perimeter, but almost everyone in atlanta drives. I really like venue92 but my FI thinks its a little pricey. I was looking at the historic roswell cottage but I havent been there or seen much pictures of events there. Any suggestions? and large enough for 150 guest. I live in texas so this would help alot.

Our Venue is The Georgian Club in Atlanta. We wanted something formal with good food and we were impressed with that and more. Compared to locations like Chateau Elan and Lake Lanier(2 of my FI’s favs), i liked that the venue is in the city with the view of the Atlanta Skyline and their customer service is impeccable so far!

dani.sampson.5:  I would check out King Plow arts center and Puritan mill. You can’t bring your own alcohol, but they have that industrial/loft look and both are in-town. A cool place that is outside of the perimeter that you can bring your own liqour and has GREAT prices is Del’avant in Lagrange, GA. It’s not as industrial looking as the first two place I mentioned, but there is exposed brick and a cool look to it 🙂

If I think of anything else, I’ll let you know! Good luck!!!
