Im not TTC, I am on it for PCOS. When I started Metformin I was 132lb, I have been slowly dropping weight and am now 116.. I am at the brink of being underweight and am worried that it is the metformin, but I am not sure.
I have not been trying to diet. The worse I eat the more I loose. When I try to watch what I eat, I gain weight… very whacky.
It has helped me so much with regulating my periods, skin and moods. I really dont want to discontinue using it. I dont even want to bring it up to the doctor because I am afraid they’ll take me off of it, and I’m not 100% positive if it is the metformin or just stress. I take 1500mg a day.
Just wondering what everyone elses experiences with it were, TTC or not.

I take it, 2000mg a day. All its done is regulate my sugar. I’be been actively trying to lose weight so as soon as I reach my goal Im going to go in and get checked out. I’m really trying to see if I lose some weight maybe I can get rid of my diabetes.
You really need to check in with your doc. Bloodwork and all that cause they may need to adjust the dosage. Seriously, make an appointment.

I just started taking it 2 days ago – 500 mg then will build up to 1500 mg per day. I am TTC with no luck since June. I went in a week ago for a pelvic ultrasound and found that I have ovarian cysts. Hopefully the met will help me with ovulation. If you are concerned you should call your doctor.

Maybe your dose is a little too high. I don’t think they would take you off of it completely if you tell them the positive effects you are having as well.
