I go hunting with the boys, but haven’t shot anything myself yet. I just finished up my hunter-safety course (and have my firearms license) so I am all set to start hunting my own animals 😀 hehe

I also have a bow, so eventually I’d love to shoot a deer with that.

Possibly this season (which opens soon!) I will get my first deer with a rifle.

DH hunts deer, bear, rabbits, pheasant and grouse. We have a Setter, so it’s a big deal for us to go bird hunting a lot when that season opens.

DH already got one deer with his bow this season as well.

I love game… mmmmmm!

@Lana_Rose:  My hubby will only shoot a deer with a gun now if he can’t manage to get one with his bow. He loves the challenge of bow hunting…and he’s a damn good shot too.

I hope I can one day do that! I just got a new bow, and can pull the needed weight to shoot a deer…just need to work on my accuracy!

Do you eat all the game you hunt? I have a great recipe for deer tenderloin. I CRAVE it this time of year. lol

It’s similar to this one:

I don’t, but Mr. LK does. We have a herd of about 20-25 deer on our property. I told Mr. Lk that it needs thinned. He’s just waiting for rifle season to open because he isn’t confident enough with his bow yet.

@Lana_Rose:  that’s cool!  I don’t hunt but my husband does.  I like having nice local organic free-range fully-self-actualized meat without having to do the killing and gutting myself 🙂  He does big game.  Our antelope and deer season just ended and he didn’t get anything (only had time to go twice), but I’m hoping for a nice big elk!

Nah, I’m too wimpy.
I enjoy shooting at the range, also archery. But just for sport.

My FI’s friends hunt… sometimes we’ll go to their house and there’s like a deer just hangin out in the garage… staring. Leave me alone, I’m just putting out the recycling!

Not me, but my husband would like to tag along with my dad when he goes hunting (he won’t ask tho). The scene in Bambi where the hunters kill his mom makes me bawl, so I can only imagine what I’d be like in real life!

The lady who waxes my legs was telling me the other day that her husband brought back two black bears from wherever he goes hunting, so now they have two mounts (or whatever they’re called) in their house. I think it’d be cool to see, but no way in heck am I going to go hunt bear! They can run, swim, climb trees, nope, nope, nope!

I hunt. Turkeys, deer, critters, but never duck, at least yet. I have always gone with my friends as DH is usually working straight through the season. He used to hunt, but hasn’t in years because of work. Bow hunting, I just don’t have the patience for that. Too much tracking.

@Lana_Rose:  Ground so far, but he’s been talking about building a tree stand. He has about a month until rifle season opens, so we’ll see if he gets his act together enough to get one built in time. Muzzle loader season has already opened here. We’ve heard shots early every morning for the last 3 days.

@CakeyP:  LOL!!! That reminds me of my first experience meeting a hanging deer!  I was about 6 years old, and we went to my grandparent’s house. Hanging up on the massive butternut tree, where my tire swing should have been – was a draining deer carcass.  I was Surprised
