I used to be a facebook addict until I moved into my apartment and couldn’t afford internet. haha

I get internet on my phone, so I occasionally check it, but now my addiction has been replaced by the Bee. 🙂

@loveknows:  With the more “open” facebook has become, I’ve found myself posting less and less. I dislike that all of my friends’ friends can see what I post on that stupid newsfeed on the right hand side of the screen. I read and keep up with “stories” of friends and families, but my life I feel is something I can share with people through phone calls, and personal visits. If long distance, perhaps a private email.

I don’t post a lot of status updates, but I do post a lot of pictures and keep up with friends and family. I have my profile pretty locked down, though. I don’t even think I come up in a search on there. I have the sidebar hidden because it’s annoying, and chat turned off at all times.

I have an account but it is a rare day that I post anything or have a status.

I used to be on Facebook all the time, posting lots of stuff.  But…the novelty wore off.  🙁  Over the past year, either my life has become increasingly boring or I just don’t feel like posting all the “look at me” stuff that seems to go on there.

I’ve also noticed, as my friends all got older and started having families…and started only posting stuff about their kids, I just felt left out and a little “meh” about the whole thing.  Don’t get me wrong, kids are great and I hope to someday have my own.  But 100 pics of little Suzy is just not something I can relate to right now.  That…and all the damn reposting of funny pictures/quotes/overdone memes gets old after a bit.

I only post pictures for my out-of-state friends and family.  My mom even complains that I wait too long to put up pictures.  She loves facebook.

@loveknows:  I think mine is as locked down as they allow, haha. I love social media, though. I do cull my friends list quite a bit, too. I used to friend everyone, but after I graduated college, I removed a big chunk of former classmates. It’s basically just family and other friends that I want to keep up with.

I don’t have FB. To me it seems like one giant attention contest to either say “look how awesome and fun my life is” or “look how completely crappy my life is” Half the stuff that’s on there are updates about stuff that I think almost nobody cares about.

But then, I’m a pessimist.

I get on everyday but only post something once every few months.  I use it to chat with my friends that aren’t close by.  I don’t need for anything else, I did post my engagement but that was to get all friends done in one shot lol.  But I really don’t see the point in posting every day or even every week, people don’t need to know what is going on in my life all the time and if they do they are close enough to call, text or chat with me.  I let bee take over my life more then facebook but I think that is because you ladies are more understanding then fb friends.

I have an account with a few few photos, but I never post status updates and I only sign on once a week or so.  This is going to sound so snotty, but I really feel like 98% of what people post on there is just not interesting.  I don’t need to know that you checked into Starbucks or see photos of what you had for dinner or hear your political soundbites.  Most people (including me!) are just not that fascinating that they need to post hourly (or even daily) “status updates”.
