I’ve been fraeking out a bit ever since I’ve gotten a few bits of news from my gyno. A few years back I found out I had PCOS. Naturally, my cholestrol was high but he wanted to monitor it. After going back this year, he noticed my cholesterol total was near 300. I’m only 26 and have no clue what the combination of high chol (and PCOS) will have with TTC + pregnancy. Any bees out there in similar situations? Any advice? How has your experience been?

High cholesterol and PCOS are extremely common markers in thyroid disease. In fact, cholesterol used to be the diagnostic test for hypothyroidism back in the day. Do you have any thyroid symptoms, such as dry skin/hair, cold intolerance, period problems, weight issues, digestive issues? Mnay doctors tests TSH and say all is well if it comes back ‘normal’ but the TSH test misses many people with hypo. There are other thyroid tests that are much more accurate, namely Free T4, Free T3, Reverse T3 and antibodies. Do you have any recent labs?
I cannot tell you how many poeple I know whose choelsterol levels plummeted once they got on the right type of thyroid hormone replacement.
