In this day and age...its way more common to meet your finace online. I met mine on a social networking sit called nexopia hahaha. IT was many years ago and i think it started by me commenting something funny on his page and then him commenting back about it... on and on until we met and here we are now. Im wondering if there are any other couple who met online and where?
no... but i saw him online before i saw him in real life! we were both on jdate, but he was kind of over it so he never went on any more (I didn't know that). i had "looked at him" and i was pissed and sad when he didn't "look" back! eventually i ran into him at temple where he was hanging out with mutual friends of mine, and i recognized him but of course didn't say anything then.
Match.com! I was new to England, and wasn't meeting the best guys out and about on my own, so I decided to give it a try. He was my first Match date-- and would've been my last, if I hadn't already said yes to a Sunday afternoon date with another Match guy.
RSVP! Which I only joined in the first place bc my boyfriend joined without telling me. Yes, he got an earful for that. Yes, I joined in revenge. Yes, we'd broken up by the time I met DH :)
Yep, we met on myspace his saw we both went to the same school but a very diffent times and sent me a message.
We met on OkCupid! Had to go through a few awful and awkward dates to get to him, but it was worth it! I'd been on the site for a year, and he had signed up two weeks prior to us going on our first date. We got engaged one year later :)
match.com for us-- I had just broken up with my high school sweetheart of 5 years and hadn't really dated around much in high school... my best friend and I were bored one night and thought why not! Met him my sophmore yr of college and been together ever since! :)
We met on Yahoo Personals also!! I had paid a membership several times and never found anyone really compatible. Then after my membership was up I received a message from my DH and thought why not try again. Signed up and paid my money and only used the site for a week for messaging and then on to our own email! But it was worth the money!! We met in April of 2008, became engaged in Oct. of 2008 and Married in Oct. of 2009!!

Funny thing is that my hubby has 3 younger sisters. About six months after we got together his oldest sister met her now husband on eharmony, and about a year after that his middle sister met her boyfriend there (all are pretty confident they will go the distance). Youngest sister is finishing school and not on the site yet, but we kind of figure that's where she'll meet her match too!
I will seriously apply to be on a commercial if that happens.....
Slate and The Onion have personals together. Odd, I know, but I used to be a bit of a hipster. There, you were rewarded with dates by how ironic and snarky you could be. It was not about meeting your future spouse.
I had a ton of fun, lots of dates, but when I met FI, that was it!

IMHO, meeting online is the best-you can exchange e-mails and that's a great screening process. My FI won me over with his writing style...well, that and his handsome face.
OkCupid! I'd been on it for a good 2 years and while I'd met nifty people, and been in and out of relationships with some of them, it wasn't until my FI and I met that things worked out. He'd only been on OkCupid for a month or so before we began messaging back and forth. Due to leaving the country not long after our first few messages, he had to wait a whole month to meet me in person. We have been together ever since!

EHARMONY. We emailed for 3 months before we met. Then we dated for nine months and were engaged for 11 months.
eHarmony! :-) I'd had one previous relationship with a guy I had met on there, but that eneded after a year and a half. I met my fiance soon after that ended and we were engaged within 10 months. It felt different with him from the very beginning. When you know, YOU KNOW.
Oh, my twin sister also met her husband on that site. Sometimes I think we should be on an eHarmony commercial.
Met on AOL chat back in 02... Chatted for about a year or so without ever trying to meet in person just were friends. We had exchanged pictures but we never tried to "hook up or meet". One day me & some friends were cruising around a popular park where alot of the HS kids hung out & we passed by a big group of guys. I noticed that one of the guys looked really familiar & after the 2nd time i saw him I knew who he was. After that evening I went home & emailed him asking where he was that night? sure enough he told me it was him & he had noticed me too when we passed by. We switched phone #'s & talked a few times, hit it off right away. One night was a coincidence but I was suppose to have to gone with my friends to the club that night but for some reason I didnt go. Well found out that her boyfriend at that time was hanging out with my FI & were friends. When we found out, we tried to go out on a double date to the movies but didnt work out like planned. My friends bf was working late that night & we had already been waiting a couple hours on him & decided to head out on our own. He picked me up to go to the movies, it was a bit awkward cuz we were strangers but for some reason he made me feel comfortable. I knew he wasnt some weirdo or killer lol We hit it off well & a few weeks later he asked me to be his girlfriend & here we are, 8 years later & now were finally engaged.
We met on MSN chat room back in 1999. I know long time. But we actually met in person until 2001. We took things really slow. LOL
