@marie011:  I’m a first timer too and feeling so much like what you described! I’m 5 weeks along and my Dr. won’t see me until 10 weeks!

We are waiting to announce too and it is sooo hard! Especially not to tell my Mom! I’m right there with ya!

@marie011:  Me! Just found out I’m prgnant a couple days ago because of insurance reasons, I won’t be going to the doctor until 10 weeks or so.

We are so excited/terrified/anxious and every other emotion we could possibly have! It’s really difficult not being able to tell anyone yet becuase it’s the only thing on my mind!

I can’t wait to get over the first few weeks so I can feel like I’m well on my way to having a healthy baby.

Have you started taking prenatal vitamins?

I’m a first timer but I’m almost in my third trimester so I didn’t just find out lol.

@HappyForeverAfter:

Congrats to both of you!  You should join your birth month threads! They really help a lot and are great when you just want to talk about being pregnant and can’t to most people.

I’m a first time mom at 31 weeks now… it’s scary at first, but try not to stress! You don’t want to look back and regret wasting such an awesome experience being terrified!

@marie011:  I was actually seen at 4 weeks due to my history of ectopic, we got bloodwork done immediately and had my hcg tested 3 times, and then an early ultrasound at 5 weeks for placement and 7 weeks for viability. I can tell you, it didn’t make me less worried… Because of my history of loss, I worried no matter what the doc/midwife was telling me, right up until the beginning of my 2nd tri and I STILL worry sometimes that I’ll lose her. It’s not logical, but I think when you’ve experienced loss, it makes it more real and more likely in your head.

That being said, I obviously have no reason to worry, she’s super healthy, had a great NT scan, is growing and moving and she’ll be making her appearance before I know it.

I think it’s normal for ALL mommas to worry, losses or not, that their baby is healthy and doing ok in there. Just breathe and relax and enjoy it because it flies by (holy 17.5 weeks already!!)

I’ll join! I’m a first time mom going into my sixth week.

Yes definitely worried but what an exciting time. I have been ultra sleepy and MOODY. Poor husband.

First time mommy also.  Five weeks and 3 days today and every little cramp I’m freaking out. My appointment isn’t until 8 weeks so I have a couple more weeks to worry. Just trying to be prayerful.

First time here too.  We waited to tell our parents until our 8 week appointment (this past week) and it was torture.  When we finally told them, my mom told me she had had a feeling all along.  Apparently, without realizing it, everytime I talked to her after work, I was on my way home to take a nap.  She said that was so unlike me she just got a feeling.  haha.  I have been super nervous and anxious.  I had a very small amount of spotting and some cramping in the beginning that really made me nervous, but at my appointment, the doctor said everything looks great and baby is doing well.  Just keeping my fingers crossed it all continues to go well. We are waiting to tell our friends until 12 weeks just to be almost out of the first trimester and more “safe”.

@marie011:  Me! I’m only 5 weeks along and it’s killing me at the moment. My 1apt with consultant and ultrasound won’t be until at least 12 weeks. I’m thinking of getting my own early scan done at a local clinic at 8 weeks. Will probably tell my parents then 🙂

I’m 17 weeks and first time mom….to twins lol. My best advice is to find your month due date board and start participating (there may not be one yet). I have found my ‘April Mom’s board’ to be really helpful and helps me keep a peace in mind.

EDIT: I’d like to point out that if…IF you have a m/c just know it is not your fault, nor could you have done anything to prevent it. All moms are worried. I thought once I hit my 12 weeks mark I’d stop worrying about it, but I still do. All I can do is to take care of myself and my babies.

@marie011:  first time for me as well! I actually had to go get a dating ultrasound done right away because my HCG levels were really high. Turns out I was 8 weeks and 3 days at the scan. My first appointment isn’t until tomorrow (nearly 11weeks) and I’m a nervous wreck! I’ve already seen the heartbeat the baby looked really healthy, but I’m ready to hear it again for my own sanity. I asked my friends with kids and they all say that worry and anxiousness never really goes away.

Just stay positive! Stress is no good for anyone. Oh, and stay the heck off of Google and the internet. That’s just not good for anyone’s sanity lol.
