All I can say is that I was going to get married in October 2012 in Redding, CA. And this last October, every other weekend was gorgeous, which was awesome. The weekends that weren't, had HAIL, thunder, lightning, and SIDEWAYS rain. Needless to say, it totally stressed me out. So in order to calm me down, I decided that no matter what we were going to make what's best of it.
The lady at the venue told me various stories of what happened when it rained and they were all cute, it was still beautiful, and things worked out in the end...they all still got married, and that's all that really matters!
Maybe talk to the venue and face your fears, what's the worst scenario they've seen, how did they deal and did everything still turn out? That's what really made me feel better.
I'm getting married in March now too, though. We did move it because of the weather fears but just because we wanted to get married sooner =)
We moved ours to March and while weather is a concern, to me it would be a concern no matter WHAT time of year it is. I know that may not make you feel better, but regardless of your date, the rain/snow/crappy weather doesn't care if it's your wedding day or random Tuesday. That's what has made me feel better.
To me the GOOD thing about our March date was that our ceremony has been planned as an indoor ceremony regardless of weather. All the weather can do is change our picture locations. :) And while I wouldn't be thrilled...oh well, right?
We're still getting married! And just think - now you don't have to wait any longer!
Oh and as far as hair... your stylist is a professional (I presume at least) and should be able to work with the weather and your hair just fine. :) You'll be gorgeous.
ETA: We changed our date from May to March. May weather is usually a lot better but again, not necessarily. No use turning back now right?
oh sweetie i feel your pain! I wanted a fall wedding but my fiance did not want to wait an extra 6-7 months for it. So..we are stuck with March and here in NEBRASKA. Its either still really COLD or theres still going to be SNOW! Also our colors are RED and Silver which is more of a winter color....sooooo that irritates me too. On top of that, my fiance picked the wedding colors and..well.....its too late to change it now. hahah with all that being said...its going to be a good time anyways because at the end of the day, its a celebration of our union!!! If i dwell on it i will go crazy so i am just going to think positive and be happy about my choices :)
I'm a March bride too. And, while March wasn't my first choice, it just made sense with our work schedules. I've been with my future husband for 10 years, and I am READY to be married to him. Honestly, I don't really care about the date. It's the DAY that is going to be fantastic... come rain, snow, etc.
And, if it makes you feel any better, wedding photos in the snow are STUNNING. I wouldn't mind, really, if it snowed on my wedding day. The photos would be totally worth it. And, St. Louis snow at that time of the year is usually GORGEOUS and doesn't cause any road problems... and it would probably melt by the next morning.
Thank you everyone. I guess I will just stuck it up. It really isn't about the date but more that I get to marry the man of my dreams. So lets hope for snow and now rain because those would be awesome pictures! I've actually decided to get one of those pretty furry capes in the hopes that it snows haha. I just need to take a step back and see the bigger picture :)

So I hate my date... March 30th and I'm really looking for something to make me feel better. We are having the wedding in MD which in March can snow, rain or be perfect. I always wanted a Fall wedding but didn't like the price tag with our venue. Our only option was March since my friend is getting married in April(which was the last "off" month for prices). So we made the wedding a month before so we both had our special time. I am in NO means blaming this on her... It was just a factor and I am very excited for her big day! I would never wish anything to spoil it.
I just keep picturing this horrible weather where my hair goes frizzy... since I have curly hair... we forget my dress and it's all just bad. Is there really that much to a date? I always wanted sunflowers... but I'm settling for yellow roses. I don't know I just don't want to look back and be mad at myself. I just couldn't have the perfect venue with the perfect time of year for my budget :/
