Although I am not Persian I think I can help you with this. I married a Persian and we had a Persian wedding. At most post Persian weddings I have been to the guests do bring gifts to the ceremony (usually money in a card). Just after the ceremony is finished the guest go up to congratulate the bride and groom (kind of like a receiving line) and the card is usually handed over at this time. I am a little confused about her having an aghd now and a "legal" wedding in July. Are they having a party now, or just a ceremony?

Any Persian ladies out there who can help me out? I'm attending my good friend's Aghd this weekend and am not sure if I should bring a gift. The legal wedding is happening in July so I don't know if I bring my gift to the Aghd, to the legal wedding, or to both.
Any idea what the custom is? I plan to give cash (not sure if it's Persian custom or not, but I know it's what my friend would prefer and it's what I prefer to give) so I can easily split the sum between the two events. However, if I'm going to two events should I be giving twice as much?
Confused!
