I used iPhoto (on a Mac) to do mine... super simple - just load the photos into an album, and then it auto generates a slide show. You can even customize the music.
But now I don't think I'm even going to use it (I don't want to rent a projector!) I may just play it on a computer setup somewhere - and people can look at them throughout the night as they wish.
@oracle - Luckily I know someone that has a projector and if I'm not mistaken, our venue has accomodations for slide show presentations (I need to double check on that actually lol) Hopefully it won't be too hard! I don't have a Mac, but I have a little experince with Windows Movie Maker, etc so hopefully I'll be able to do that. The computer set up sounds like a good idea as well, good luck with whatever you decide to do!
I didn't make one for my wedding, but I did make one for my husband's graduation from grad school party. I have a PC and just used Microsoft Powerpoint. It was super easy and I was able to add whatever text I wanted in addition to pictures for each slide...you can add music too.
@whfields - For some reason I hadn't thought about Powerpoint lol, I may just try that. Thanks!

I'm considering taking on our picture slideshow for our rehearsal dinner/reception as a DIY project. Did anyone else do this? If so, what program did you use and how did it turn out?
Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!
