To you ladies that have the shark: Do you feel that the steam heats up to a temperature where it is effective at sanitizing the floors? Have any of you had problems with the handle breaking?

I can tell you that my DD has a Shark and wants my  Eureka.  She LOVED her Shark until she tried mine.  I have no personal arguments with the Shark, but after finding that review and learning about steam temp, etc. there is no way I’m going with a Shark.

I’ve had mine for several years. It’s the purple one, and it doesn’t have as many features as you can get now, like it doesn’t have a temperature control.

I’m not sure how you would double check the sanitizing, but it does produce a good amount of steam, and it definitely works for cleaning.

I’ve had no issues with the handle.

@RockyTop15:  Our handle hasn’t broken. Only downside I’ve noticed is that it does tend to leaVe streaks on the darker colored laminate floors. We just scoot around with towels on our feet to get rid of the streaks lol

I’ve had mine since 2010, no issues with anything breaking. I have the older model though, like @Krispi. I feel like it’s pretty hot (it hurts if I do it barefoot and accidentally touch it).
