We used Wedsafe (http://www.wedsafe.com). It was reasonably priced and the coverage was easy to obtain online. We never had to file a claim so I don’t know how their claims process is, but our experience overall was great.

Also- does it matter if I’ve already given a deposit to my photographer, bought my dress & shoes, and am about to put down a deposit on the venue too? Do I have to purchase the insurance before I make wedding-related purchases or can I get it at this point?

Nope, you can still get it. It covers loss events that happen after you purchase insurance. So as long as your loss hasn’t occurred yet it’s fine.
