When we went shopping for gowns in OC we had a great experience at The Dresser in Fullerton. My cousin didn't really know what she wanted either. The sales lady showed us each section of gowns and what types were located where. My cousin tried on a little of everything I thing. They didn't limit how many gowns she could try.
They don't allow photos. We went on a weekday which I am sure helps. Overall a great experience. Good range of prices. Most of the gowns tried on that day I think ran from 750-1200. We weren't looking at prices when we pulled them.
Brides of California in Torrance were very nice, as was the Alfred Angelo on Las Tunas Avenue in San Gabriel. Always make an appointment beforehand.
Pebbles Bridal in Woodland Hills. The dress I tried on there was $750 less expensive than it was at other bridal boutiques I'd been to.
Definitely try Fionna's Bridal in Temple City. Fionna is the nicest vendor I had. They let me try on as many dresses as I wanted which was a lot nicer than some of those other places on that wedding street.

If you have $1000 Alfred Angelo is great! My BFF got her gown there and it was wonderful. The people we delt with were so great and amazingly helpful and friendly. We got the bridal party dresses there as well and had just as great an experiance. Make and appointment and if you can go on a week day that is even better!
Good luck!!
I used to love Belle Bridal in Redondo Beach, but they recently closed their doors. Now, if you're looking for gowns around the $1000 mark, I'd suggest Bridal Elegance in Torrance, or even Lily's in the valley.
Mariposa Boutique in Anaheim! First place I went to and fell in love. =) Very friendly staff and wonderful owner!
I loved Mary Me Bridal in Orange, CA. I got my Alvina Valenta there (a little more than your budget). If you have a designer in mind, see if they carry it. They had the best prices. Esther was the sweetest to work with!
Hi Drexalia,
R-Mine (they carry amsale, badg/mish, carolina herrera, elizabeth filmore, jenny packham, kenneth pool, melissa sweet, oscar de la renta, platinum, priscilla, reem acra, rivini, st. pucci, ulla maija, and pronovias) has a second store in glendale and according to their website, they are having a store-wide clearance with gowns marked down to 200-1000 buckaroonies! Maybe this would be something you might want to check out-
Here's the ad (not to do blatant advertising for them or anything...haha)
oh, and here's the website url: http://www.rminebridal.com/bridal.htm

go to jinny's bridal in huntington beach... the place looks a little old but they are SOOOO helpful. The lady there (Marina) helped me out.. and she was so awesome... she knew right away from just looking at me what type of dresses would look good on me. They have great prices too. One dress that I tried on other bridal shops in OC were $200-300 dollars cheaper at jinny's.
I found a wonderful variety of dresses in Temple City, near Pasadena. Oscar's was where I found my dress. Lots of bridal shops there on the main street.
Not sure if you've already found your dress, but there is Mon Amie in Costa Mesa. It's a large store, so there is a lot to choose from. I actually only went a little over my budget, but I absolutely loved the dress. I know they have an outlet store next door. One warning though! If you do happen to buy your dress from here, DO NOT have Jenny the seamstress fix your dress! She has made my experience at Mon Amie so unpleasant! That was the only negative thing about the place. Everyone else is nice and helpful.
Mariposa is another good place that you can definitely find one for around $1K. The owner is really nice and helpful, and she told me she wanted to sell beautiful but affordable dresses to people.
One last thing I forgot to mention! Mariposa lets you actually take pictures even though you are not buying the dress.
I purchased my dress from Bridal Elegance for under $1K during a trunk show and got free alterations. They had the same dress at Mariposa and The Dresser in Fullerton but it was cheaper at Bridal Elegance and more convenient for me.
i would not recommend The Dresser in Fullerton. If you look at Yelp! it got really bad reviews. I even wrote my review on there based on my experience. Fountain Valley may be out of the way, but The Wedding Day had a lot of selection.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
My budget is around 1K. I just want somewhere friendly since I don't know exactly what I want. Thanks.
