I just graduated from UNCA in May and had my graduation lunch there at the Southside location. We had about 30 people and also used the covered outdoor area. The food and service was awesome... we couldn't have asked for a better experience! You'll love it!
@MadameLady:My FI and I LOVE Tupelo Honey Cafe. We go to the southside location fairly frequently because it's easy to get to and it's only 5 minutes from our house. The food is awesome! The outdoor patio area is very nice. You might just want to add a small flower arrangement or something to the tables.
That is one of the locations we are putting on our wedding website as recommended places to eat during the wedding weekend. We are getting married up there in August and our friends that live there love the place.
My fiance is from Asheville and everytime we go visit his parents it is one of our favorite places to eat! So so good, you won't be dissapointed.
FI and I ate at Tupelo last night, so I snapped a few pics of the patio for you while we were there. They're not great because they're from an iPhone and taken through glass (they had it closed off for the winter, I guess) but at least you can get a better idea of what it looks like. :)
FI and I were in Asheville this weekend and I remembered this post, so we decided to eat at Tupelo Honey's south location. The food was really great and the service was awesome.

I've read some very good reviews online but I was hoping to get some more personal recaps from anyone living in Asheville :) We're looking to have a brunch reception at the southside cafe in their covered outdoor area. Anyone been? Is it nice enough that I wouldn't need decor? there's not many pictures online.
