We are doing rustic/vintage as well. We got a lot of milk glass, mason jars, burlap, etc. This is a very loose mockup of our tables

We’re on the hunt for old books, but no luck yet.

The actual squares are made of cardboard covered in burlap. I covered them and then sealed the edges with hot glue. I glued the twine into the top of the seam before closing it so it’s “invisible”. I cut out the letters from “vintage” looking scrapbook paper and hot glued those as well. I put a dab of hot glue on the top of the chest and added the letters. It doesn’t show in this picture, but we since found a collection of old buttons and we used the button on top of the twine so it gives the appearance that they’re hanging from these cool buttons. I’m still on the hunt for a piece of lace for the bottom. I don’t like the blue fabric haha.

I LOVE the vintage suitcase idea, I actually found one today at a flea market for $5 and I almost bought it but didn’t want to do another haha.

We are doing rustic for our centerpeices…well maybe its more nature-y im not sure but my dads work had to cut down a few trees so to recycle them we are cutting them into round centerpices with 3 tealights in the middle of each. For our guests place cards we are putting their names in pine cones…so maybe more woodsy :)

@Bao: I want to see a picture too!! I found it very hard to draw the line between rustic/vintage/woodsy. Oh well haha, I guess we have all three.

i was planning on doing rustic, but more like a natural rustic…we were supposed to get married on a lakeside pavilion that has a floor to ceiling stone fireplace, and stained concrete floors…so all our stuff was gonna be copper, brown, and ivory…and even tho neither of us are true texans, i was planning on using the “Lone Star” or “Sheriff’s Star” quite lavishly lol…

i guess my rustic is different from everyone else’s…to me, it’s more country, than anything else :)

OP, i think the hay seating, sounds awesome :) we were gonna do the long hay bells, but for a slight contrast, i had planned on renting shiny copper rectangle tablecloths, and using those as a “Luxury” kind of feel on the hay  :)
