I am getting my certification this summer because I plan on going on a lot of amazing dives on our honeymoon. I am looking for a good (but not outrageously priced) digital underwater camera. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

diver for 15yrs here and married to a camera ho who is also a scuba instructor. you dont want an underwater camera, you want a camera AND a underwater housing. my hubby dropped $6k last month just on a housing alone, he has 2 nikkon cameras, various strobes and a heap of lenses – about $20k worth i reckon and although hes been published he takes pics because he enjoys it
what you need to ask yourself is where am im going to be diving, what are the conditions and what sort of photos do i want to take?
i have a friend that has a simple S95 Cannon with a housing and she takes great photos because she knows the limitation of her camera, so she takes great close up photos because she knows shes not going to be able to get wide angle shots with her rig
as you mentioned honeymoon im thinking you will be in warm tropical water – this is good because the water is usually clear
sorry just a bit of info here – ask away if you have any questions but i also suggest wetpixel for more technical info
