I’m having my wedding in July 2015 in Oklahoma (so, it can get up to literally 114 degrees). Our ceremony and reception will both be indoors, but we’ll be at a mansion with a really great courtyard and patios. Going outside to take our pictures and such, having cocktails outside, it’s going to be a hot affair. So, I’ve opted to have a tea length wedding dress. My best friend is making it for me (has a costuming degree).
Did any of you ladies wear/will be wearing short wedding dresses? If you had a circle or 3/4 circle skirt, did you wear a petticoat? How were peoples’ reactions? Also, if you’re like me and get bruises and bug bites so easily, how did you avoid that before the wedding?

futuremrschristensen: Here’s my little beauty i love showing it off, i am so pleased i went with a tea length, I will probably be wearing a petticoat. When i told people they all said i wouldn’t feel bridal but i felt more like a bride in this than in a full length.

I will be wearing a short dress for my July outdoors wedding. I loved looking at and trying on big formal dresses, but this one definitely felt right for me. No regrets!
