I'm getting married in Rock Hill on March 19th, 2011. Our colors are yellow and gray and we're trying to keep our budget around $8,000. I'm basically trying to keep everything as simple as possible. We're getting married at 1:00 and having a super kid friendly wedding. There will be lots of games (bocce, cornhole, badminton, etc...). Here's my inspirations board.
I'm from Greenville & just got married in October at The Lodge at Table Rock State Park! Congrats on your up coming weddings!
Awww! Congrats to both of you on your weddings.
@shelbifox15: Table Rock is a pretty place. A friend from high school just got married there too. I think the weekend after you.
I'm from the Greenville area but I live in Columbia, got my wedding dress in Spartanburg, and our wedding is in Charleston.
Our budget is around $7K (which we should be under) and we're going for a Southern, vintage, romantic style wedding with the ceremony in a gazebo in a park and a dinner reception in a private dining room in a restaurant. We're mostly going with pinks for the colors too. We're only having 20-30 guests because both of us wanted a small wedding.
What did you all use to make your inspiration boards? Like a site or program? I've tried the knot, but looking for another place to make one.
@OurWedding: I used Powerpoint. I just added pictures and resized them and moved them until they looked like an inspiration board/collage.
We live in New York, but I have spent summers in SC as long as I can remember (my family has a beach house there), so when we got engaged, we decided it would be the perfect mini-destination wedding! We are getting married Oct. 1, 2011 at Debordieu (in Georgetown - about halfway between Myrtle and Charleston). We are going down the week between Christmas and New Years for meet with and finalize our "big" vendors (photog, DJ, florist) - any recommendations are welcomed!
Hey! I'm getting married in my home church in my very small town (more like community) Sardinia,SC about an hour south of Columbia. Then the reception is at Springfield Plantation in Kingstree,SC. Colors are pink, green, and gold. Here is my inspiration board.
Yay! Happy planning SC bees!
I've lived in Charleston my entire life and I got married in July at the Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner, SC.
We're getting married in Charleston :)
FH is from South Carolina but we live in St. Louis now so we decided on Charleston since that's where his family is :)

@Ms.Teddy: We're having our RD at a house on Kiawah, reception at FH's families home downtown, and ceremony will actually be a week earlier out of state.
@june42011: I sent you a PM!
My FH and I live in Japan right now, but he is from SC and we are going to return to there in summer hopefully. We plan on getting married in Mount Pleasant, SC next year. I definitely love hearing about other SC weddings though- especially the Charleston area.
im getting married in Myrtle Beach on Sept 10, 2011 and am having a heck of a time trying to find a reception venue that won't charge me an arm, leg, and foot and add on $40-$60 a head for food. Any ideas out there??? Please help!! I'm in desperate need of ideas!

Hi South Carolina Bees!
I was beginning to think all the brides on here were from California! I just got done with a wedding in June (I'm a planner/designer) at the Officer's Club in Columbia and am now working on one that's taking place at the Community House at Lake Carolina. It's an outdoor wedding and they're getting married in front of a huge fireplace. They also have a fire pit there, so we're doing a S'mores buffet, a photo booth, and a popcorn buffet. Definitely pulling out all the fun fall ideas for this one. Please let me know if anyone needs any decorating/planning help in South Carolina. I'm a native South Carolinian!
Good luck to all!

@OurWedding: I'm actually looking for someone who can decorate a reception hall. I just got engaged but i'm having a destination wedding so we are going to come back and get together with the family. I'd like for that to be a nice setting, but I haven't lived in Charleston since high school If anyone know's of anyone that I can contact...somebody affordable that would be GREAT. I can also be reached at pjai80@gmail.com
P.S. Ladies I LOVE the inspiration boards!
@DIY Wedding Planner: Hey! I'm actually REALLY early (got engaged on Sept 10th 2011) but I figured it couldn't hurt. I'm looking for someone that can decorate a reception hall.... Can you do that or do you know of anyone that can? My Fiance is from Macedonia so we are going to forgo the stress and high tail it to an island...knocking the wedding and honeymoon out in one punch, but I don't want to leave my family out so i figured I'd get a place....an affordable place, and invite everyone out :) If you know anyone with excellent decorating skills please point them my way :)

Just wondering where the SC Bees were? Tell us about you and and your weddings!!
I'm getting married in Spartanburg, SC at a local church and having the reception at the Cleveland Park Event Center. The colors are black and white with royal blue accents and with a photo theme. FI and I Love taking pictures. We are trying to keep our budget around $10-$12K and it looks like we will be under that. We also want a modern feel to our wedding! We are using lampshades and lanterns with photos for centerpieces. I'll post some pics later! We are building our own photobooth as well.
Anyone else?
