Hey!!! Welcome to the board--- I am a St Augustine bride! Married one month!
Here's one review here for rentals and DJ: just stay away. They are RUDE and oh, just read :) http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/vendor-review-buyer-beware-of-one-voice-productions-st-augustine-038-jax-fl
We used Kirby rentals in jax for glassware and china and they had great service and discounted our rates- without complaining (like the above company).
I have a few recommendations from other friends that have been married here- flowers by shirley (in the ponce mall) or 51 treasury are really good. I personally bought flowers to DIY from Shirley and some online to do our centerpieces. The prices at Shirley were great- 20 hydrangea stems, 20 roses, 10 pink antiques (pink/green) and 6 peony stems for less than $240 (of course I arranged myself).
For photography- We used Christy Whitehead from Freelance4hire.com & her prices are AMAZING- and her finished product- well no complaints at all- we didn't even realize she was around 98% of the time. She just hung in the background and was so unobtrusive... it was great. See here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/wedding-pics-458-yay and our engagement/trash the dress pics http://staugustinewedding.blogspot.com/
Here's the entire album (good bad and ugly- which I preferred to see personally when I was shopping for photogs) http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/thumbpage.aspx?e=3701092
and http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/thumbpage.aspx?e=3632412
Our location was Holiday Inn in St Augustine Beach--- food came out AMAZING- Becca is a rock star chef & even tailored a few recipes just for us. They definately are a smaller place, are in the mid-low price range (only 250 for room rental and they set everything up you just have to tell them what you want).
As far as another beach location: Do not go with Beach Resort @ St Augustine Beach- they are sleezy, don't like it when you ask many questions, and charge a 4% processing fee for using a credit card (against the cardmember merchant agreements)... ummmm yeah not necessarily Kosher.
PM me if you have any questions!
There's also one more St Aug bride on here--- beesknees
Hi ladies! I'm from Jacksonville. I'm still deciding on a date and venue.
congrats! i am getting married in ponte vedra beach. i am not using any St Augustine vendors, but if you have any questions, please PM me.
OH I AM!!!!!
I just got married on the 19th, and used a lot of St. Augustine vendors.
I'll post pictures and vendor reviews in more detail later this week. But to give you a brief rundown here's a few vendor highlights.
Rentals
Kirby Rentals- Awesome- good price, pleasure to deal with
Food/alcohol
A1A ale works - Fantastic food, super friendly servers, great bar service as well.
Flowers
Publix Aprons Events in jax- Did our flowers. SO CHEAP! So gorgeous! we met with 57 treasury but I found her to be really pricey for just filler flowers. publix we got all roses and calla lillys- 2 bouquets, 4 bouts, 1 flowergirl head piece, 2 presentation roses, flower petals and deliver for $250!!
Sweet Weddings - Oh MY YUM! the cake was double the size I was expecting- delicious, moist, Arlene is very friendly and creative- a little hard to get ahold of but worth it!
Location
was a family acquintance home on Avenida Menendez overlooking the Matanzas river . 200 yr old home- spanish style. Very romantic. he wants to start renting it out for weddings. It was magical and we could see the fireworks go off over the fort. So dreamy. PM i will send you photos.
Hotels
Hilton historic st. aug (expensive but very comfy and nice)
Bayfront Inn - right next door to location, very Party like.
Photographer
Heather Funk. We brought her up from Miami (where I live right now)
www.heatherfunk.com she is spectacular. I'll post pics later.
Ok I wasn't going to write very much but now I've gone on and on.
good luck- have fun. St. Augustine was perfect for a wedding, our guests had a phenomenal time exploring the city.
Contact me for anything as I have the post wedding planning blues and am desperate to do more wedding related goodies!
Beesknees.....Publix Aprons does flowers??!! I definitely need more info on that please! I'd also like more info on the family friend with the house he might rent out. I wanted to rent a house for our wedding but I couldn't get anyone to call me back.

I usually post on The Knot, but I wanted to check and see if there are any past or future brides on here from St. Augustine or Jacksonville, FL? I'm getting in St. Aug next year so I'd love to hear vendor reviews, etc.
