My FI and I are planning on going to Thaiti for our honeymoon. I was just curious who else is going there and what package, company, ect are you using?

Which islands are you hoping to visit while you're there? Are you planning on staying on one island the entire time, or splitting your time between a couple of islands?

Probably splitting it up. We are looking at inclusive packages that include airfare from Los Angelas, breakfast every morning, some include 1 or 2 dinners, and inter-island airfare. Most of the packages are split between Thaiti, Bora, Bora and Moorea. We would like to hop around and see the different islands. Are you going here too?

I'm leaving for Moorea in one week!!  We are doing 5 nights in Moorea and 5 nights in Bora Bora.  We didn't do any particular package but we booked through a travel agent.  Got one night free at both places (you can get these promotions online too i think).  We also have free breakfast in Bora Bora which is good b/c i hear food is a small fortune.

SOO excited and clearly think you are making a great decision!  It's totally a once in a lifetime trip.  I'll fill you in on what i did when i get back if you want.

girls...i am so excited for you! And even more excited that I plan on making this my honeymoon destination next year, also! I've been ruthlessly stalking TripAdvisor reviews and forums 2-3 times daily for insider advice! It's so much fun to plan! And what a trip of a lifetime it will be! I am also desperately trying to save the money I'll need to fund the trip! Ha!

    Hi Miss Sweet Tea,

We went on honeymoon to this area in May of this year, and loved it!  Have a great time!

We stayed at the Intercontinental in Tahiti for a night (would highly recommend) upon arrival, then flew to Moorea and stayed at the Sofitel for four nights (would recommend, but also heard great things about the Hilton from guests we met), then we flew to Le Taha'a Island Resort (would HIGHLY recommend, this was our absolute favorite and very romantic) for three nights, then flew to Bora Bora and stayed at the Intercontinental Thalasso for five nights (loved it, would highly recommend).

In Moorea, we rented a car for the day, and it was a bunch of fun driving around the island and stopping off wherever we wanted.  You could also rent an ATV and do the same.  We also did a shark and ray excursion (left from the Hilton) that was amazing and so much fun.  At Le Taha'a, we didn't have any excursions, just lots of romance time and intimate relax time.  We did the Milkyway "dinner under the stars" thing in the room, which was quite fun and delish.  In Bora Bora, we had a Jeef Safari tour that I woudn't recommend, and spent the rest of our excursion fund on massages at the spa (good plan!).

If you stay at the Intercontinental, definitely sign up for the Ambassador Club card in advance, for guaranteed upgrades for the rooms and a late check out.

PM me if you have any specific questions!

There are so many great things to do in Tahiti. If you're going to Bora Bora I would recommend the Pearl Resort. And the Hilton is also very nice.

I would love to go to Bora Bora!!  That is actually my dream vacay and I hope the DH and I will be able to go there maybe for a 5 yr anniversary!  If your a Costco member they have packages that look really good, but then again I don't know what other people are offereing, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out....here's the link:

WE ARE WE ARE!!!  I swear as the wedding gets closer, I am getting more and more excited about our honeymoon hahaha!!!  We are flying from Toronto-LA, then speinding a few days in LA to break up the jet lag... and then flying to LA.  We are doing a 10 day cruise through the islands... starting in Papeete, Tahiti and then going to the islands of Moorea, Huahine, Bora Bora, Rangiroa and Raiatea With the cruise we have an overnight in Bora Bora and an overnight in Tahiti.  I am SOOO excited... then on the way home we are spending an extra night in Tahiti.

We have set up a honeymoon registry for our shore excursions, but have heard amazing things about the dolphin encounter on Moorea, the snorkelling/diving in Rangiroa (a mecca for divers !!!) and some other excursions that our family has raved about from going there previously!!!  I can give you updates when we get back, as we go in October!!!

We literally just booked our plane tickets to Tahiti last night!  We haven't decided on itinerary or hotels yet, but we better get on it since we only have 2 months til we go.  This thread is very timely, thanks :)

I'm going to Bali, but we went with exotik tours and I believe they have packages that include the french polynesia. Also moon rings has some great packages as well.

@Miss Sweet Tea: I don't know how I missed this post since I am THRILLED TO BE GOING TO BORA BORA and MOOREA, YYIIPPEEEEEE  LaughingLaughing

We are going in February from LAX.  We're spending 4 nights in a Beach Hut at the Hilton Moorea and then 4 nights in an overwater bungalow at Le Meridien Bora Bora. I didn't want to go directly after the wedding b/c of wedding blues and I wanted to have something to look forward to in the middle of the WA rainy winter, LOL Also the prices and rates were much lower in Feb.  We booked through this amazing travel agency I found here on WB on another Tahiti Honeymoon post....

If you have any questions or want to know more details/info PM me, I am more than happy to help in any ways!!!

Where is this magical place?  I thought you mispelled Haiti, which I don't think is a popular honeymoon destination.  Then I see Bora Bora being talked about, and I am sold!  Have fun ladies!!

My husband and I just got back last week! We spent 3 nights in a garden bungalow at Hilton Moorea and 4 nights in an over water at the Pearl Beach Bora Bora.  Both locations were amazing and beautiful.  Our wedding was on Saturday and we left on Sunday night.  We took the red eye and arrived in Tahiti early in the morning.  We took the boat to Moorea right away so we did NOT spend a night in Tahiti like most travel agents will have you do.  We booked through costco, which was very easy and a bit cheaper than we were getting quoted from a travel agent.  Total cost for airfare, hotel, and inter-island travel was $7,750 for the two of us.  Our hotel also included breakfast.  I HIGHLY recommend having breakfast included in your room rate.  There is probably no way you wont eat breakfast at the hotel and we had to pay for breakfast the first morning we were in Moorea (cause we got there so early) and it was about $80 for the two of us.  Having dinners included was also an option, but I am glad we did NOT do this.  We did eat at the hotel a couple of nights, but i really liked the option of having dinner outside the hotel and most restaurants will come and pick you up.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me...I love talking about my trip!
