Pick your photos, lay them out on each page in a general idea of where you want them, and then after you have laid out all the pics, go back to the beginning and start cropping and sticking.
Less is more. When it comes to scrapbooking you will find a lot of elements you can add to your pages but too much looks cluttered. keep it consistent and don't let the decorations overshadow the photos!
I mat my pictures on complimentary paper and then adhere it to the page. I think it adds more "umph" to the finished product. And alphabet stickers are your friend! I cannot tell you how true this is. I've seen people who tend to do their own freehand lettering, and it does not look good 99.9 percent of the time. And I second GaBGal on the over-accessorizing. Too much can "tackify" a page very quickly. And also, vary your layout so the pages don't look so cookie cutterish. Don't you love all these words I've invented?

I am going to attempt to make a scrapbook with some of our engagement photos and put them on the table we will have all of our framed photos. We will have some of our engagement photos framed but I want to do a scrapbook and I thought this would be a way to do one.
