Our caterer is pushing a bartender BC she’s had to take care of it in the past when she says brides weren’t prepared.
We are having a small less than 40 reception, all DIY , casual and fun.
Having beer and wine and probably one mixed cocktail so we really don’t feel we need or want a bartend for the size and those drinks, ( they just open the beer for people?I don’t get it)
So tips for enough ice? Setup etc? Going to use bevmo for their advice and planning.

We’re doing the same thing except for like 150 people! A bunch of kegs in ice in the shade with a ton of disposable clear cups, a bunch of bottles of wine in ice in tubs, a wheelbarrow full of ice and canned/bottled drinks (iced tea, lemonade, soda), and some drink dispensers of water. I think the key is keeping everything in the shade, having a ton of backup ice kept somewhere cool, and putting someone in charge of restocking as the event goes…

It wil be all setup inside our venue, so def. Shade,
Planning on having one person refill ice, and wine bottles on table.
Need to consider cups I guess for the premixed cocktail or anyone that won’t drink their beer out of the bottle, lol
Do u have the containers yet for water, etc? I hear some leak…

If you are only doing one mixed drink consider making them brefore hand in mason jars with cute labels on the top, then you know people arent getting to drunk by pouring themselves and then no one has to mix anything themselves
