Early on, I was pretty positive I did not want uplighting at our reception. I’ve scoured Pinterest looking for a reference pic where the uplighting didn’t look like an urban nightclub but I haven’t found any! Do any of you bees have uplighting pics that aren’t the colors of the rainbow??

I don’t like uplighting and i wont be having it. Like you said, it looks like a night club and that just doesn’t fit my theme. I would pay extra for it.

I had amber uplighting which looked great in our venue since we also had candles throughout. It didn’t look like a nightclub at all, just gave the room a soft candlelit glow.

I was going to say peach\amber. Pretty!

I am pushing my venue to do Amber for that same reason. She insists pink. We will see who wins the war the day of. We are having an “enchanted forest” theme so everything is pink, green and golds which is why I think Amber would look perfectly fine. Oh well.

My daughter’s venue recommended amber, too. It was the Gold Ballroom, of the Hotel duPont, Wilmington, DE. It was gorgeous and elegant. I regret not having any photos, without guests.

We had amber too. I was very adamant I did NOT want uplighting, but my husband loved it. I will say that he made an awesome decision as it made the room look beautiful 🙂
Do a google search for amber uplighting. Also keep in mind that the photos you see usually have a TON of uplights and you can minimize the # if you like.

akkaer1: Love that photo! Looks like candlelight. Our themes are similar! I’m having a winter woods/enchanted forest look.

cristalgolightly: mine will be amber/dark orange. My decor will be fall themed with dark reds and oranges, and I’ve seen pictures of my venue online with similar decor and uplighting, and it looks warm and glowy and wonderful – nothing nightclub-like about it.
