In about 6 months or so I lost 30 pounds for my wedding. I did it by watching portions and just eating healthier overall. I also had a pretty intense gym routine. I worked out hard for 6 days a week. I would alternate between Turbo Kickboxing classes, cardio equipment (running, elipticle and the stairmaster) at the gym, and weights at the gym or using Jillian Michaels DVDs. What it sounds like you want to do will be completly successful. Jillian DVDs are great, she will kick your booty. If you have the time for it I reccommend no more trouble zones. I really like that DVD. I can surprisingly stay more motivated through that entire DVD than some of her other shorter ones. She has so many good ones. I also had a lot of success with P90X. That takes a pretty substantial time commitment but it will tone you up in 90 days! I say go for it!
I started my "bridal workout plan" on April 1. Since then I have done Bridal bootcamp for 4 months (April - July) and done the 17 day diet for 2 months with some Jillian DVDs.
Here is my before: (in the sample dress)
and here is me in my actual dress after dropping 17 lbs:
I loved bootcamp and it definitely helped sculpt my body. However, after 3.5 months of it, 3 additional days of cardio and eating a 1300-1400 calorie diet I had only lost 6 lbs and was a bit discouraged. I was happy with the results but I wanted to lose another 10-15 before the big day.
My sister and BFF had both started the 17 Day Diet and were having major success, if you google it you'll get the premise...its not a fad diet, but the first 2.5 weeks are a little intense! Anyways, I had to cut back on my working out bc I was not consuming enough calories to do the Jillian DVD's but that worked out well because the wedding was starting to consume my life anyways and take away all of my free time! I have lost 11 lbs on the diet in 2 months. I have had 2 WAY cheat weekends, and several (3-5) big time cheat days. I'm happy with the results and I plan to go back to it after the wedding to drop my final 5-8 lbs!
Good Luck!
You. Look. AWESOME. Good job! I will definitely look at the 17 day diet...I really love to exercise so I never want to do something that is too restrictive.
Your arms are insane. Well done!
Yep! I lost 65 lbs. in 9 months using sparkpeople.com (free!) and exercising every day. Kettlebells ROCK!!!!
I lost about 100 lbs. on the Paleo diet. Easy to stick to.
I did a ton of Jillian's DVDs before the wedding to get to my goal weight. I also recommend the Game On! Diet and Fitness Challenge with some friends, I lost 6lbs in 4 weeks doing that, and it only required 20 minutes of exercise per day and allowed some cheat days. Keep in mind, I had already lost 20lbs before starting the Game On diet so I was near the end of my goal and others lost much more.
The true key is just starting, and keeping on it. After each baby, I *make* myself lose the weight in less than a year. I keep a mindset of: I'm not happy with my image if it requires me buy larger clothes- which I cant afford, or "suck it in". It's a lot of mental work, the backbone of my determination. Granted I also do not have any medical issues preventing my weight loss. If you do, don't hesitate to consort with your health provider, you deserve to be healthy!

Hello hello,
I have about 9 months to go until my wedding and I would like to lose about 25 pounds and tone up all around. I was wondering if any of you have some good ideas as to how to do this.
I enjoy running and spinning but I think I should do something like Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred to help tone up. I've also started a very good diet plan and I'm seeing the pounds drop as a result of this.
Any success stories out there to get me motivated would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
