I am so prone to weird little crushes, usually things that never cross my mind more than once in awhile when I see that person. They never mean anything, and like you I'd never dream of acting on them. I think for me, it's because I spent my childhood and early teen years crushing hard on guys - it's kind of hard to turn that off sometimes!
@lily you are so right, I was totally that girl in my teens.
It´s weird because I´ve been kind of drooling on the inside for my teacher (he is very smart and funny but , again, I would never do it) and at the same time I feel so insulted when I see him looking at me or when he wants to ask me to do something he gets real close and rubs my back a little. Maybe it´s just my imagination. Guess what, I´m a Theological Seminary student, and he is a pastor. ¿!?
Do you think men also go trough this?
Now I don't other than celebrities, and a little one on an Australian guy in one of my classes-he's not really cute though. It must be the whole Australian thing haha.
I used to have a crush on my teacher in HS. He was like 15 years older & about to get married haha
Yes, I think guys go through this too. I noticed it most with FBIL - he always flirted (appropriately, not touchy-feely) with the MOH, a close friend of FSIL's. They'd talk on AIM and stuff. I thought that was kind of weird, but I guess everyone's different! If I was FSIL I'd be a little upset at some of it, but once again, everyone reacts differently. FI and I talk pretty openly about what levels of friendship w/the opposite sex we're comfortable with, which helps.
Ever since I got engaged, I've been having dreams about old boyfriends - I think it is a cold feet thing. I haven't thought about these men in YEARS and yet I can't stop thinking about what would have happened if I stayed with that guy or dumped so-and-so earlier. I don't love these guys, or really miss them for that matter! I think it's just a phase and it WILL pass! Just be careful - things can get out of hand quickly...sometimes too quickly to think about it!
@lilyfaith: so you tell him about your mini-crushes? or you just talk hypothetically about what you would do?
@FLMegan - we just talk hypothetically. I guess it sounds too weird out loud for something so small?
Yeah, I know I have to be careful... do you know anyone that has gone from this to an affair? It just seems so innocent. But you know something is wrong when you are ashamed of it, though, I get really embarrassed with my classmates and other teachers! like they can see right trough me!
My teacher lives very close to me and almost gave me a ride home the other day... thank God I have only one moth left for this class to end.
I've got you all beat, hands down! I have a hardcore crush on a guy who acts at the same theatre that I do. And he is in his late-40s. And he is gay. It is the weirdest thing EVER, and I have yet to understand it LOL. We quite often end up playing opposite each other as husband/wife, lovers, etc. I don't know if it came from that maybe??? LOL
Edit: And I should also mention, that if I didn't know him and I saw him walking down the street, I would NEVER think he was attractive....WTF?! LOL
LOL eeniebeans! If you weren't in Baltimore, I'd have to ask if you were my best friend. She's had a crush on her office UPS guy for like 4 years now.
My last crush was like three years ago... on a priest. :) My husband still teases me about it, but Father Marc was hot!
I still have a huge crush on one of my high school teachers.. and the last time I saw/talked to him was like 4 years ago.. My fiance thinks it's hilarious and likes to poke fun at me about it.. it isn't like he is threatened by it or anything.
Also.. there's a girl I went to high school with also on these boards.. I wonder if she knows which teacher it is..

I have the biggest crush on my teacher, and I think he is corresponding! He is not super old, but old enough, and married, and don´t worry, I´m not planning on cheating on FI.
But I just feel weird, maybe is one of those normal cold feet signs? Just because the wedding is so close?
Have you ever had a weird crush like this, with someone you never thought you could be attracted to? Any of them close to the wedding? Or I am just crazy?
