I chose yellow gold prongs because I am not a fan of pale grey metal (i.e. white gold and platinum) – something to do with living in a country characterised by grey weather. I thing that the yellow prongs, if anything, emphasise the whiteness of my diamond. The photo below is my ring next to a cz art deco earring. My diamond is G colour and the cz is D colour. I cannot see any difference in colour. I think this is because the diamond is well cut and that most of the light enters through the diamond’s table. The prongs are lower than the table and therefore no (or very little) yellow light reflected from the prongs enters the diamond at all.

@Supersleuth: I have yellow gold prongs! They prongs are very fine, so it’s a little hard to see. I liked the contrast of the white diamond with the yellow gold too.

I LOVE yellow gold, and insisted on it for my ering. To me gold is meant to be yellow, why are we changing that? Also my body chemisty eats the plating off of white gold and I didn’t want to be getting my ring re-dipped every three months. That being said my prongs were origionally white gold, but they didn’t stay that way, 4/6 have turned completly yellow and I will porbably just leave it that way 🙂
(sorry I don’t post ring pics…. but LOVE seeing everyone elses)
